This is a crochet pattern + video tutorial for these cute Pokémon inspired Pikachu slippers.

*(Colours in the video may differ from the colours you need for this project, so check the instruction for the correct color)

Sizes: Kids’ and adults’ sizes.

Level: Intermediate
Gauge: 12 sc X 12 rows = 2” / 5.5cm square

Sizes Information:
This pattern can be made starting from kids’ size -- US:1 Euro:32 UK:13-- and up to adult sizes.
The size of the slipper will be determined by the number of rows worked on the Base Sides section
(See Page 5). You can either measure it yourself, or use the sizing guide provided.
Other than this section, the rest of the pattern is worked exactly the same for every size.

In this project, you will work in continuous rounds (Use a stitch marker or piece of leftover thread
of a different color to mark the beginning of a new round) as well as in rows.
When you need to change color at the end (or middle) of the round/row, insert hook into the last
stitch of the round and draw up a loop just like you would for a normal st. Then instead of drawing
the same color to yarn over and complete the st, use the new color yarn. Wrap the new color
around the hook, and pull through the two loops on the hook. Then work a few stitches, and tie
the tails of the new color yarn with the previous color, and then cut. You will also need some basic
sewing skills.
The numbers in ( ) at the end of each round or row indicates the total number of stitches that
should be in that round or row

Decide the size you want to make, and crochet each Base Side until you reach the number of rounds mentioned
in the Size Guide above, OR:
*Measure the length yourself:
Deduct 1 3/16” / 3cm from total length of your chosen size (mentioned in the table, see appendix A). This will be
the desired length for the Base Sides. (You can also print out appendix A, cut out the shape of your size and mark
1 3/16” / 3cm down from the top - the Base Side should reach the marked line.)
For example: Size UK 4 is 22.5cm in length so you should crochet the Base Side until it’s measuring 19.5cm.
When you make the first Base Side work from rnd 4 until you reach the number of rounds that fit your desired
length, then make the same number of rounds on the 2nd Base Side.

Work with Yellow, work in continuous rounds using a st marker.

*Tip: Make all 4 base sides at the same time (2 for first slipper and 2 for the second) to make sure all Base sides are the same length.

Rnd 1: ch-15, make 2 sc in the 2nd st from the hook, sc in the next 12 st, make 3 sc in the next st (1st st made),

Place the two Base Sides one on top of the other (First and last rounds aligned). Sew the first round of both sides
together with Yellow double threaded yarn.
Decide which Side will be the Left side and which will be Right.
Find the middle-top st of each Side and then:
On the Left side: Mark the 5th st to the right of the middle-top st
On the Right side: Mark the 5th st to the left of the middle-top st.

Row 1: Insert the yarn in the marked st on the Left Side and fasten it. Then sc in the same st, and then sc in each

STUFF THE SLIPPER:
Stuff the shoe with the stuffing. Make sure you reach all the way down on both sides.
Important note: For the front DON’T stuff under the 40 rows part - this is the place where the toes will sit, so
stuff only above the ellipse and to its sides and front. Also, don’t over-stuff the front - think about the fact that
your toes will sit inside so if it’s too full it will be tighter on the toes

Rnd 22: [sc in the next 5 st, dec]rep 10 times. (60 st)
Rnd 23: sc in the next 4 st, dec, [sc in the next 8 st, dec]rep 5 times, sc in the next 4 st. (54 st)
Rnd 24: [sc in the next 7 st, dec]rep 6 times. (48 st)
Rnd 25: sc in the next 3 st, dec, [sc in the next 6 st, dec]rep 5 times, sc in the next 3 st. (42 st)
Rnd 26: [sc in the next 5 st, dec]rep 6 times. (36 st)
Rnd 27: sc in the next 2 st, dec, [sc in the next 4 st, dec]rep 5 times, sc in the next 2 st. (30 st)
(Keep stuffing as you work if you need to add more)

Rnd 28: [sc in the next 3 st, dec]rep 6 times. (24 st)
Rnd 29: sc in the next st, dec, [sc in the next 2 st, dec]rep 5 times, sc in the next st. (18 st)
Rnd 30: [sc in the next st, dec]rep 6 times. (12 st)
Rnd 31: dec all around. (6 st)
Sl st in the 3rd st and fasten off.
Hide all the remaining tails inside the slipper.

Sole:
Print out Appendix A and cut out the sole shape according to the size that you’re making. Place the cut-out shape
on the thick felt and mark the top, bottom and middle. Draw a vertical line through all three marks.
For the top and middle marks: Use the ruler/measuring tape to mark 5cm to the right and 5cm to the left of the
marked spot.
For the bottom mark: Use the ruler/measuring tape to mark 4cm to the right and 4cm to the left of the marked
spot.
Pin the felt sole to the slipper’s bottom with the clear part of the felt facing up (Narrow part is the heel and wide
part is the toes). Sew it with double threaded perle cotton thread using a blanket stitch. (See reference picture in
Appendix A or see video tutorial)

Fit:
1. Mark the 10th round down from the connecting point of the front on each side (left and right) and use same
color yarn to sew the top part of the slipper.
2. Sew the heel: Overlap one side of the top of the heel part on top of the other and sew them together for a more
fitted heel. (See tutorial)

To make the slippers

anti-slip:
Use a glue gun and make
little dots on the felt at
the bottom of the slipper.
Let it dry. Now you have
anti-slip slippers.
