Autobiography

My Name is Kent Robert K. Cura and I was born on the 16th November, 1996 in Guzman Mandurriao
Iloilo City. My parents were Shirley K. Cura and Roberto C. Cura and I'm the 5th of six of us siblings 3
boys and and 3 girls. Our family was quite poor because my mother had only finished high school while
my father didn't finished college with a course of marine engineering because he was not very diligent
back then. Because of our situation our neighbors even our relatives despised us. My childhood days is
not quite great compared to a typical middle class children. My mom was only a manicurist and
pedicurist while my dad was a taxi driver and if my dad cannot drive due to illness we experienced
sharing only one can of sardines and sometimes if my mom and dad were not yet home we siblings only
eat salt and soy sauce with rice as a viand.

When I finished kindergarten and turned elementary we moved in Pali Mandurriao in 2003 because my
Grandma, my father's mother selled our land their in Guzman and want us to tranfer near them. When
we transfered to Pali our life there improved a little bit because there was already a house built of
concrete it was much better compared to our wooden house back in Guzman and my dad built an
electric shop in front of our new house,

When I was in high school March 2014 midnight a terrible tragedy happened to me I almost got myself
killed by 12 gangters mostly same age as mine they the enemy of my eldest brother and also they were
drug addicts because they were from baranggay Bakhaw the most known baranggay engaging in illegal
drugs. I survived that tragedy and helped by a person with a motorcycle and I was treated in the
hospital.

In my college days in 2014 to 2017 it was not very easy for me and my family because we lack finance
my eldest sister only do baking and making ice candies and my mom is the one who sells it in public
market and school while my father fixed electronic devices for our every day allowances in college. I
always do some promissory notes just to get my exams thats why I joined a lot of organizations including
Dragon boat team, School Choir, Working Student, and NROTC Cadet Officer same time I was also an
Philippine Navy Reservist every sunday and a barracks boy in our university in John B. Lacson Foundation
Maritime University-Arevalo because I know this will help me lessen my tuition fees for me to ensure
graduation and same time it will mold me to become more responsible and flexible. Inspite of my extra
curricular activities I still maintain a high Grades in my major subjects in third year college and there I
learned to manage my time.

April 4, 2017 I was one of the 1188 Graduated BSMT students in John B. Lacson school year 2016-2017
and also a Class Master since 1st yr to 3rd yr and top one in our classroom, an MSAP Passer ranking 141
out of 250 of us students that were qualified to take the exam, and I was awarded as the most efficient
midshipman officer in NROTC of that school year.

Thanks to the never ending support and sacrifices of my family, friends, instructors, and above all to God
that changed me after the tragedy that happened to me guided me and made me who am today. I know
someday I will return all the Glory and Honor to him until the end of my days.
