Deleting Cost Centers in SAP S/4HANA

Prerequisites
You can delete Cost Centers either individually or using collective processing.

You can only delete cost centers in the current controlling area if no transaction data exists for the
affected fiscal year in either the cost center or in an activity type of the cost center in the plan,
commitments or in the actual. You are also not allowed to plan any statistical key figures . The system
carries out the appropriate checks.

With this app you can create and edit master data of cost centers.

Features
This app enables you to:

▪ Display existing cost centers, along with their validity periods, and view detailed information
about them.

▪ Create new cost centers.

▪ Edit cost centers master data and validity periods.

To learn more about editing cost centers master data, see Editing Cost Centers and Time-

▪ Add new validity periods for cost centers.

▪ Delete validity periods that are no longer needed.

▪ For each cost center, view other objects using this cost center by navigating to the
app Where-Used List – Cost Centers.

▪ Navigate to other apps that are related to cost centers.

To navigate to an app, click or tap the ID of the cost center and choose the app link. If not all
apps are visible, choose More Links to adjust the settings.

1. To delete one cost center, enter the cost center on the appropriate initial screen for individual
processing.

2. To delete more than one cost center, on the initial screen for collective processing, enter the
criteria by which you want to select the cost centers. The following selection criteria exist for
cost centers:

d. Selection variant (see: Selection Variant)

e. You save selection criteria for cost centers in a selection variant. You can use the
variant to select all cost centers with the same entries in one or more master data
fields.

i. To create new selection variants, select Selection Variant and choose Save as.

ii. - In the list of cost center fields, enter the criteria by which the cost centers
are to be selected. For example, you can select all cost centers belonging to a
given company code.

- Enter a variant name and a description for your variant.

- Save your entries.

iii. To change an existing selection variant, select Selection variant and then
