Chatty letter of Chenggoy that Leonor Rivera is
unhappy and getting thinner because of the absence
of a loved one.
In Paciano's letter, he advised Rizal to take Medical
Course in Madrid so Rizal left Barcelona and
established himself in Madrid.

Consuelo's beauty attracted Rizal and he even wrote a

After his arrival to Madrid, Rizal joined the "Circulo

Hispano-Filipino" - a society of Spaniards ad Filipinos.

After Rizal's departure for Spain, things turned from bad to worse
in Calamba
No harvest because of drought and locust.
Dominican increased the rentals
Hacienda manager, a frequent quest at Rizal home, used to ask
turkey from Don Francisco.
Hence, monthly allowance of Rizal were late, sometimes, it never
arrived.
June 24, 1884 - Rizal attended his class with a hungry stomach.
Fortunately, he won a gold medal in Greek Language competition
finally ate his dinner.
