Re: Renewal of Group Health Insurance Policy for Retired Employees


Under IBA Medical Insurance Scheme: 2023·24

We are pleased to inform that, IBA has announced the Renewal of Group Medical
Insurance Policy 2023-24 for Retired Employees under IBA Medical Insurance Scheme.
MIs. National Insurance Company Ltd. shall continue as the Insurer for the Policy Period
from 01st Nov 2023 to 31st Oct 2024 and Ericson Insurance TPA pvt. ltd. will serve as the
TPA.
The Salient Features of the renewal policy are as under:
1. Following Retired Employees / Spouse of Retired Employees are eligible to avail this
year's policy (Base Policy + Top-up Policy):
a. All those who were covered under the previous year (2022-23) Retiree Group
Health Insurance Policy.
b. Retired Employees / Spouse of Retired Employees / Spouse of Deceased
Employees (Including Spouse of Retired Employees deceased during last year),
who have opted out / not availed the IBA Retirees GHI Policy 2022-23 only but
covered in policy year 2020-21 and 2021-22.
c. Those Employees Retired / Voluntary Retired during 01 st Oct 2022 to 30th Sept
2023.
d. Those Employees who Retired during the policy period 01 st Oct 2022 to 30th Sep
2023 and have / have not joined the one month's interim IBA Retirees Group Health
Insurance Policy for the period from 1st October 2023 to 30th October 2023.
2. Retired Employees / Spouse of Retired Employees who had opted out / not availed the
IBA Retirees GHI Policy 2020-21 & 2021-22 and also not availed 2022-23 policy are
eligible to avail this year's Retiree GHI Base Policy of Rs. 2 Lacs ONLY. They will NOT
BE ALLOWED to opt for Top-up Policy.
3. The terms and conditions of the Policy are revised as under:
a. Insurance Company has offered Uniform Base Policy of Rs.2 Lacs for both Retiree
Officers and Award Staff with concept of caps/limits along with Top-up options
varying from Rs.1 Lac to RS.1 0 Lacs.
b. Room Rent charges in Retirees Uniform Base policy of Rs.2 Lacs are as follows;

c. Where Retired employees and spouse both are alive, family floater premium
has to be compulsorily paid; Except in cases when - Spouse of Retired staff
has taken separate policy ! Spouse is settled abroad / Spouse is
separated/divorced / Retiree is unmarried.
d. Retirees can opt with/without domiciliary option in Retirees policy 2023-24
irrespective of option they have chosen in previous year policy 2022-23.
e. Retirees who are covered in 2022-23 policy but not availed Top up can also avail
Top up Policy for 2023-24.The TOP-UP policy will be activated only after the
exhaustion of the Limit prescribed in the Base Policy.
4. All bills! receipts for purchase of medicine must bear valid GST No.{Printed) of the
issuer. Please note that the Condition is applicable for both hospitalization and
domiciliary (OPD) Claims.

As informed by M/s. National Insurance Company Ltd. following options/ variants are
available in connection with renewal of the Policy in respect of Retired Employees for the
period from 01/11/2023 to 31/10/2024:-
i. Single Person Sum Insured
Retired employees! Spouse of Retired employees can avail coverage as applicable
for a Single Person (only in cases as clarified in point 3.c), by paying premium at
reduced rates. They can opt for uniform Base Policy of Rs.2 Lacs along with Top-up
options varying from RS.1 Lac to Rs.1 0 Lacs.
Note: If Retiree has opted for single premium, then he/she has to continue with
the same option for next 2 years also and he/she will not be allowed to move
from single premium to family floater option.
ii. Family Floater Sum Insured
Retired employees can opt for uniform Base Policy of RS.2 Lacs along with Top-up
options varying from Rs,1 Lac to Rs.1 0 Lacs.

A) Option I - Without Domiciliary Coverage

Under this Option, expenses incurred in connection with hospitalization alone are
covered and expenses incurred for domiciliary treatments are NOT covered.

B) Option II - With Domiciliary Coverage


Under this Option, expenses incurred for dorniclliary treatments are also covered for a
list of diseases (as per Annexure C), in addition to the hospitalization expenses.
However, the coverage for expenses incurred in connection with domiciliary treatments
shall be capped at a maximum of 10% of the Base Policy Sum Insured (i.e. Rs.20,000/-)

1. The uniform base policy of Rs.2 Lacs will be with below mentioned
caps/limits:

a. Caps on Bed Room/Room Rent/Boarding Expenses per day.

b. Caps on ICU Charges per day.

c. Caps on Stand-alone ceiling/cap on treatments.

d. Caps on cost of implants.

e. Caps on Physician/Specialist consultation charges.

f. Caps on Operations.

2. Once the Top-Up variant is opted by the retiree, the entire policy i.e., Base
Policy + Top-up will not have the caps as mentioned above.

3. Domiciliary Expenses are not covered under Top-Up Policy.

SPECIAL PERSONAL LOAN TO BOB STAFF PENSIONERS:
Bank is extending "Special Personal loan to BOB staff pensioners" to help them in
payment of their Medical Insurance Policy renewal premium.
The maximum loan amount shall be up to the renewal premium amount or Rs 1,28,4201-
whichever is less and can be repaid in maximum of 10 EMls. Copy of this loan scheme is
enclosed as Annexure B the Loan may be availed up to 24th Oct, 2023.

Those Retired Officers/ Award Staff/ Family Pensioner, who wish to avail loan may
approach their pension paying Branch.

The loan disbursed amount would be credited by the Branch to Pensioner's saving
account, in which the monthly pension is being credited.
We are sure that this loan scheme will mitigate the hardships of having to bear the burden
of the higher premium amount in one go.
The installment of Loan repayment will be deducted by the Pension Paying Branch every
month.

Important Points:
a. All those retired employees I Spouse of Retired employees, who wish to join the
policy 2023-24 should submit their OPTIONS ONLINE through HR Connect
latest by 24-0ct-2023.
The Online Application for Renewal of GHI Policy 2023-24 will be activel
available from 10.10.2023 to 24.10.2023 on Bank's HR Connect Module
under Medical Insurance Tile, path of which is given below:

Note:- EC No. must consist Six Numeric Digits.

will be sufficient), which is linked with HR Connect.
b. All those retired employees / Spouse of Retired employees, who wish to join the
policy 2023-24, must ensure that, his 1 her Mobile Number / Email Id is linked /
registered in HR Connect & Pension paying Account 1 Premium paying Account.
c. Details to be provided at the time of submitting online option:
i. Spouse (Name and Date of Birth), (Required for Family Floater)
ii. Account number and IFSC code of Branch
iii. Email Address and Mobile No
iv. Full Address with District, State, Pin Code for any communication.
v. Choose correct option.
d. Kindly note that there will be NO AUTO RENEWAL of the Insurance Policy
this year. Hence, those retirees who want to avail medical insurance policy
must compulsorily submit option for the same in HR Connect by 24th Oct
2023 failing which insurance cover will not be extended.
e. The premium as per the Option exercised will be debited on 26th October 2023,
from their Account which would be provided by them at the time of submission
of the Option. It is therefore advised that sufficient balance be kept in the

f. Options submitted online will be treated as the authority to debit the account for
premium amount.
g. Once option is exercised online, NO further change would be allowed after 24th
Oct 2023.
i. Once the premium is debited, no change in option will be allowed.
ii. Please note that NO HARDI SOFT Copy of the renewal option needs to
be submitted at Head Office or any other Branch / Office.

If sufficient balance is not available on 26-oct-2023 in your account, it shall be


construed that, the concerned is not interested in continuing the Medical
Insurance Policy and accordingly the Renewal of the Policy shall not be effected.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MEDICAL INSURANCE OPTEE TO ENSURE


MAINTENANCE OF ADEQUATE BALANCE IN THE DESIGNATED ACCOUNT FOR
DEBITING THE PREMIUM AMOUNT.

who have opted for "Group Medical Insurance for Retirees" are
required to remit the renewal premium for the same. (To National
Insurance Company Ltd).
2 Purpose a) Exclusively for funding the renewal premium amount of Group
Medical Insurance for Retirees.
b) No other purpose/ requirements to be considered under the
scheme.
3 Maximum Amount of Upto the Renewal Premium amount (inclusive of GST) for the IBA
Loan Group Mediclaim Insurance for Retirees' or Rs.1 ,28,420/- whichever is
lower.

under the scheme, the disbursed amount to be credited to the
Pension account of the retired employee.
The procedure as advised by HRM Department from time to time
should be followed for remitting the amount of premium.

Monthly instalments to be recovered from the pension paid by the


branch every month on the date of payment of pension without fail.

Proper noting is to be made in the borrowers pension file regarding


granting of the Loan to ensure that the pension payment is not
transferred to any other branch during the EMI period.
