Enrollment Agreement

The following enrollment agreement serves to confirm your enrollment in the Master of Science
in Financial Engineering (MScFE) program at WorldQuant University. The MScFE program is
100% tuition-free and includes instructional materials, third party proctoring, technology access,
educational services, and library services. Prospective students are responsible to cover the cost
of their English proficiency test (if applicable) as well as possible expenses to request an official
transcript for their previously earned college/university degree. This Enrollment Agreement is a
mandatory prerequisite to register for your first course. It is valid for the entire duration of your
enrollment in the MScFE program and expires upon graduation, Program withdrawal, and/or
once the Maximum Time Frame (MTF) of three (3) years permitted to complete the program has
expired.

1. I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understood the University’s Terms of Use.
2. I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understood the University’s Privacy Policy.
3. I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understood the University Catalog, which
contains the University’s policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Student
Code of Conduct, the Complaints & Grievance Policies, and the Attendance and Leave of
Absence Policies.
4. I understand that to be fully matriculated, I must complete the first Program
course, MScFE 560: Financial Markets, with a passing grade (70% or above) and submit
an official transcript for my highest previously earned college or university degree.
Additionally, I understand that I must submit my official transcript before the end of the
second Program course and that failure to submit my official transcript on time will result
in suspension from the Program.
5. By enrolling I am pledging my time and commitment to successfully completing the
Program. I understand that I will need to dedicate at least 20-25 hours per week toward
each course. Additionally, I understand that I will need reliable internet service to be
successful and that a laptop or desktop computer and a webcam will be required to
complete course activities.
6. I understand that my assignments may be subject to submission for textual similarity
review to Turnitin.com for the detection of plagiarism. All submitted student work will
be included as source documents in the Turnitin.com reference database solely for the
purpose of detecting plagiarism of such papers. Use of the Turnitin.com service is subject
to the Usage Policy posted on the Turnitin.com site.
7. I understand that in order to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), I must
maintain a cumulative average score of 80% or above and complete the MScFE program
within the Maximum Time Frame (MTF) of 150% (3 years) of the scheduled Program
length of two (2) years. I further understand that the minimum passing score at the course
level is 70%.
8. I understand that I am responsible to register for my next upcoming course and that I may
cancel my course registration within the first week of the course or withdraw from the
course in weeks 2 or 3. I further understand that I am granted a maximum of two (2)
course cancellations and two (2) course withdrawals. Cancellations are not included in
my transcript but do count towards the Maximum Time Frame (MTF). Withdrawals are
included in the transcript and count towards the MTF, but do not impact the calculation
of the cumulative average score.
9. I understand that the University may terminate my enrollment if I fail to comply with
attendance and academic requirements or if I fail to abide by established standards of
conduct, as outlined in the University Catalog.
10. I understand that as a student of WorldQuant University (WQU), I am prohibited from
being employed and pursuing candidacy at WorldQuant, LLC and/or its affiliates for a
period of 12 months following the earlier to occur of (x) my last day as an enrolled
student at WQU and (y) my graduation date from WQU. I further understand this rule
applies to all accepted applicants who enroll and begin their studies at WQU, whether
they earn a degree or exit prior to completion.
11. Accreditation does not provide automatic acceptance by an institution of credit earned at
another institution, nor does it give assurance of acceptance of graduates by employers or
guarantee that the degree will be recognized in every country. Acceptance of credit or
graduates is always the prerogative of the receiving institution, employer, or country. For
these reasons, besides ascertaining the accredited status of an institution, students should
take additional measures to determine, prior to enrollment, whether their educational
goals will be met through attendance at a particular institution. Those measures should
include inquiries to institutions to which transfer might be desired or to prospective
employers.
12. In the event of a complaint, grievance or dispute with WorldQuant University regarding
University procedures, decisions, or judgments, I understand that I have the right to seek
a satisfactory resolution through the formal avenues of appeal and redress outlined in the
Complaint and Grievance Policy in the University Catalog. In the event that a complaint
could not be properly resolved after exhausting all formal avenues of resolution and
redress, I understand that I may file a grievance with the Louisiana Board of Regents,
P.O. Box 3677, Baton Rouge, LA 70821-3677. I understand that I may also file a
grievance with the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), 1101 17th
Street NW, Suite 808, Washington, DC 20036, (202) 234-5100, http://www.deac.org.
13. I understand that plagiarism, cheating, fabrication, engaging in or facilitating academic
dishonesty, republishing or redistributing any course materials including but not limited
to assignments, course notes, and lecture videos, my own coursework or another student's
work, and uploading these materials to other websites all constitute violations of the
University’s Academic Integrity Policy and are subject to disciplinary action as outlined
in the University Catalog. I further understand that unless explicitly noted, all course
materials are the property of WorldQuant University.
14. I hereby consent to share my name and email address with my assigned group members
for the purpose of group work collaboration. I understand that I am expected to contribute
to group work projects and to actively collaborate and communicate with group members
in a timely manner (i.e., share contributions in advance of the submission deadline to
allow for collaborative revisions among all group members). Non-collaboration and late
contributions are considered serious violations of the University’s Academic Integrity
Policy and subject to disciplinary action.
15. I understand that I will own the rights to all student work created for the purpose of
course and Program completion at the University (“Student Work”), except as and for the
period otherwise required by a student’s written employment or consulting agreement
made prior to enrollment, if applicable.
16. I hereby grant to both the University and WorldQuant, LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free,
transferable, worldwide right and license to use all Student Work for any purpose
whatsoever, including but not limited to, commercial exploitation, and the preparation
and exploitation of derivative works therefrom.
