RATIONALE

Youth leadership supports youth in developing the ability to analyze their strengths and weaknesses, set personal
and professional goals, and have the self-esteem, confidence, motivation, and abilities to carry them out.

As youth increasingly contribute to innovative solutions, driving social progress and inspiring
political initiatives. They are agents of change, mobilizing to advance different agendas and to improve the lives
of people.

Pursuant to Section 30, paragraph A and B of RA 10742 “Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015”.
Every province, city, municipality and barangay shall conduct an annual activity to be known as Linggo
ng Kabataan, In line with this, the Pambayang Pederasyon ng mga Sangguniang Kabataan (PPSK) Cabugao,
Ilocos Sur and the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) of Cabugao, Ilocos Sur will conduct a Youth
Camp which aims to showcase the leadership skills of youth and fully unfold their potential to be the beacon of
hope for the future. It also provides a forum for young people to organize, network, learn new things and share
their hopes and concerns in a public settings.

Activities throughout the 2-day Youth Camp include lectures regarding preventing, Countering violent
extremism, Leadership principles, Criminality and Drug prevention, environmental protection and preservation
of the culture and the arts.

This is set to contribute to the development of the community through the empowerment of the youth through
training and seminars to ensure a more focused, consistent, gender responsive, inclusive and democratic
strategic actions in pursuing the development ends.

OBJECTIVE
 Prepare youth leaders to become responsible citizens and contributing members of their communities;
 To analyze his or her strengths and weaknesses, set personal and vocational goals, and have the self-
esteem, confidence, motivation, and abilities to carry them out.
 Enhancement of the capacity and moral standing among youth, so that they become future capable and
reliable leaders.
 Contribution to the efforts towards the creation of good governance nationally and within institutions.
 Creation of a network of collaborators among youth and future political leaders from the different sectors
of society and with a variety of political views.
