what are the parameters to monetize the youtube channel

Monetizing a YouTube channel involves meeting certain criteria set by YouTube and then applying for
various monetization features. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, here are the
main parameters and steps to monetize a YouTube channel:

YouTube Partner Program (YPP) Eligibility:

To become eligible for the YouTube Partner Program, which allows you to monetize your videos, you
generally need to meet the following criteria:

Have at least 1,000 subscribers on your YouTube channel.

Have accumulated at least 4,000 watch hours on your videos within the past 12 months.

Comply with all YouTube's policies and guidelines, including copyright and community guidelines.

AdSense Account:

You'll need an AdSense account to receive payments for the ads shown on your videos. If you don't
have an AdSense account, you can create one during the monetization application process.

Monetization Application:

Once you meet the YPP eligibility criteria, you can apply for monetization through your YouTube
account settings. YouTube will review your channel to ensure it complies with their policies and
guidelines. This review process might take some time.

Content Policies:

Your content must adhere to YouTube's content policies, including copyright rules, community
guidelines, and advertiser-friendly content guidelines. Videos that contain copyrighted material,
explicit content, hate speech, or other violations may not be eligible for monetization.

Ad Formats:

Once your channel is approved for monetization, you can start earning money through various ad
formats:

Display Ads: These are shown on the right side of the video and above the video suggestions list.

Overlay Ads: These are semi-transparent ads that appear on the lower part of your video.

Skippable Video Ads: Viewers can skip these ads after a few seconds.
Non-Skippable Video Ads: These ads must be watched before the viewer can access the main video
content.

Sponsored Cards: These are displayed within the video, suggesting products or services.

Channel Memberships: This feature allows viewers to become channel members for a monthly fee,
providing you with additional revenue.

YouTube Premium Revenue:

Your videos are also eligible for a share of the revenue generated from YouTube Premium subscribers
who watch your content without ads.

Super Chat and Channel Memberships (optional):

If your channel is eligible, you can enable features like Super Chat and Channel Memberships. Super
Chat allows viewers to pay to have their messages highlighted during live chats, while Channel
Memberships offer special perks to your subscribers for a monthly fee.

Remember that YouTube's policies and features can change over time, so it's crucial to refer to the
official YouTube guidelines and policies to get the most up-to-date information on monetization
requirements and features. Additionally, make sure to create high-quality, engaging content that
resonates with your target audience to enhance your chances of building a successful and
monetizable YouTube channel.
