● Embedded into one English 101R course per semester
● Providing students with critical thinking, reading, and writing support
● Attending and participating in each class session through the week to model expected student
behavior
● Scheduling consultations and consulting with each student a minimum of 8 times throughout the
semester, there are typically 15-20 students per class, and working to build and/or further develop
skills in areas such as: prewriting, drafting, revising, reading, etc.
● Corresponding with students to provide instructional clarification or helpful reminders.
● Teaching mini lessons to the class throughout the semester over various topics such as: MLA
formatting, integrating and citing sources, synthesis, etc.
● Attending and participating in weekly professional development meetings to learn and/or build
skills that are necessary for successful consulting.

● Connecting with assigned mentees and providing them with support that will assist them in

● Provided support to new English Teaching majors as well as English & History Teaching majors
○ Assisting in their transition to college and helping them feel comfortable on campus.
