Responsible for planning, executing, and reviewing orientation for 700+ international students at the University of
Kansas.
Responsibilities include:
Building transportation schedules, student schedules, speaker schedules
Schedule/Coordinate communication between primary stakeholders including (advising, housing, dining,
Health Services)
Reserve locations & equipment throughout campus that is necessary for orientation
Sit on the board of the international families, students and scholars committee
Review SUNPASIS to identify students attending orientation, confirm housing for students, coordinating
arrival logistics, and assigning appropriate groups for orientation
Interview, hire, train, and manage student staff for the orientation
Main accomplishments include:
Implemented a new orientation flow/process which resulted in savings of over 30% year on the total
international student orientation budget
Implemented a new orientation process which significantly reduced errors, and helped us plan orientation 3
weeks faster than previous years
Created/Updated standard operating procedures to help align the entire orientation organization to be more
effective & consistent
Created a new and more effective transportation planning process for orientation that resulted in 5,000
dollars of annual savings & a higher service level then any year before.
