You complete more jobs on the 2AC. Fewer second

operations are needed. The machine's unique tool slide
actions and spindle functions are designed to keep tooling
costs low on the widest variety of jobs. Standard tools and
combinations of standard machine functions will handle
most work. More versatile than a hand-operated machine,
the 2AC does more complicated work- automatically.

ONDEPENDENT CROSS SLIDES

l Finish ing cutl er
following rough-
ing cutter
One or both cross slides may be selected to operate with any
or all pentagon turret stations merely by placing operating pins
in the Cycle Control Drum. In " Normal" cross slide operation,
the cross slides feed during the last 4 ½ 11 of the turret stroke.
"Late" cross slide functions also are available, as described

i Roughing cutter
below.
The independent cross slides can be used simultaneously for
combined cuts. The rough and finish facing operation pictured
here for example, substantially reduces total cutting time.

OTHER CUTTING STROKE FUNCTIONS

final cutter adjustments, without indexing the turret.

Six automatic feed selections are available from a

range of 36 feeds- .0019 11 to .124 11- with standard
change gears placed in the feed transmission during
setup. This wide range provides feeds close to the
ideal for any job. The turret and cross slides feed at
the same rate.
