OBSERVE 4. PROVIDING SUPPORT

Procedure:

Before the Lesson:

She gives support for the time the students need to be motivated. Support is sometimes given by her so
that some students dont feel themselves insufficient. She gives as an example that the higher students
who have same marks in an exam to lower students aren't rewarded with same amount of support. She
prefers giving support to insufficient students who have same marks to avarage or successful students
but not to avarage or successful ones, since they are same with lower students and she also gives
warning to them. She usually gives support to motivate the students and to reward in oral way.

During the Lesson:

1. Use the table below to identify the types of support given by the teacher for each activity.

2. At the beginning, she adjusts her volume speed and level and L2 level, she sometimes revises
former vocabuary and sentence strucures a little bit and gives first example. During the
example, she repeats key points. To me, the reasons of giving those supports to the students
cause from her having concern about students' to be able to know deeply what they will do and
what they are doing.

3. Actually, No one can do nothing more special for support than her with these methods and
materials she uses in classroom. I can just mention about my considerations abot giving support
as I wrote after the lesson part.

After the lesson:

1. She usually gives support to reward and increase motivation and she gave the support in broad
strokes in those types.

2. In our observation, I was all limited and same for everyone. Yet, it can be concluded from what
she told us about giving support that she sometimes reduces the level of support to make the
activity more challenging and keep the students in needy situation for learning english.

3. To me, giving support is key thing to make the lesson period understandable, charming and
open for students to participate. Not only it increases the participation, charm and
comprehension in class, but only it increases the productivity of each activity you prepare with
heavy heart and aiming to teach english in limited lesson times. That's why, I will develop myself
at these types of supports in classroom, most especially.
