This chapter presents the methodology including research design, data collection procedures, and data

analysis used in the whole process of the study.

The researchers will conduct a quantitative type of research considering the usage of descriptive
research design, where it involves the presentation of a series of questions to which the qualified
participants respond to.

The researchers used the descriptive research design method in this study since the primary objective of
this study is to know the effects of the use of coconut shell concrete on the local environment.
Descriptive research aims to obtain information to systematically describe a phenomenon, situation, or
population. More specifically, it helps answer the what, when, where and how questions regarding the
research problem, rather than why.

In analyzing the data gathered from the respondents, the researchers will use a purposive sampling
method where the participants are 30 randomly selected only due to constraints of time. The dependent
variable of the study will be the use of coconut shell as partial aggregate substitute in concrete while the
independent variable is the view of students of its use with respect to environmental sustainability.

Survey questionnaires will be used to collect the necessary data for the study. These questionnaires will
be distributed online through the use of Google forms. (insert chuchu). The relevance and correctness of
these questionnaires to the study’s goal will be verified by the research adviser and grammarian. This
research contains data analysis in order to organize, analyze, and interpret data. Evsluate the
significance of the information gathered. The researchers worked in a systematic manner. Perform data
analysis bt categorizing the infprmation.
