1.2 Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-
PMJAY)
What’s in News?
News 1:
• 2-day Arogya Manthan held to mark 5 years of AB-PMJAY.
• 24.58 crore Ayushman Cards created, and 27,353 Hospitals Empanelled under PM-JAY.
• Under PM-JAY around 5.6 crore hospitals admission (worth over Rs. 69,000 crore) have
undertaken.
• 177 Ayushman cards made Per Minute; 30 beneficiaries’ avail of services per minute; 48%
of Hospitalization availed by Women and 8 hospitals are being empanelled per day, on
an average under PM-JAY.
o over 141 medical procedures exclusively earmarked for women.
• Around 60% of amount has been used for tertiary care hospitalization.
• Awards given to states for effective implementation of PM-JAY and ABDM:
o Highest Ayushman Card Creation:
i. Assam, Nagaland, and Jammu & Kashmir
o Highest Percentage of Utilization in Public Hospitals:
i. Karnataka and Tripura
o For Highest number of treatments, won by

• 95% wards in India have 100% door-to-door collection

• 12 crore toilets have been built in last 9 years under
SBM.
• Solid waste management - almost non-existent at
mission’s inception, now stands at 76%.
