I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
a. Identify the congruent angles when a line transverses parallel lines
b. Define Transversal, Parallel Lines and Congruent angles
c. Demonstrate relationship among angles formed by parallel lines cut by
a transversal.
III. PROCEDURE
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
Make me!!!
The teacher will volunteer to illustrate the following;
- Illustrate a pair of parallel lines on the board
- Draw a Transversal line that cut the parallel lines
previously drawn.
D. Activity (3 minutes)
The class will be split into four groups: And it’s group are expected to
do the following
▪ Draw a horizontal line and Label it as line I
▪ Draw another horizontal line below the line I and name it as line
K
▪ Draw a diagonal line, intersecting the two line: line I and line K
name it as line T.
▪ Name the points of intersecting as point x and y respectively
E. Analysis (5 minutes)
Guide questions:
1. Are angle 3 and 6 interior or not?
2. Are the two angles placed on the opposite sides of the
Transversal?
3. What other pair of angles which has the some characteristics
with the angle 3 and angle 6?
4. What are those angles located outside the figure.
4. Name all the angles that would be congruent to angle C if and only
if lines E and F are parallel.
5. Assume line I and M are parallel, and lines E and F are parallel.
List all the angles that would be congruent to angle K.
6. Assume we do not know if any of the lines in the figure above are
parallel. Determine which of the following angle relationships
would prove lines E and F parallel. For each of the problem,
explain why or why not.
a. Angle A is congruent to Angle J
b. Angle A is congruent to Angle C
c. Angle D is congruent to Angle T
d. Angle G is congruent to Angle P
e. Angle N is congruent to Angle W
f. Angle A plus Angle Q is equal to 180 degrees
g. Angle K plus Angel N is equal to 180 degrees
