further testing per this QSOP.

1.3 - Definitions (Words that are defined are italicized and bolded once per section)
1.3.1 - Accessible: Any area of the toy that can be contacted by any portion forward of the collar of the
accessibility probes when inserted to the depth determined in QSOP 3010, Accessibility.
1.3.2 - Fabric: All flat surface and raised-fiber textile materials yarn, ribbons, thread, string, rope and other similar
materials. Vinyl, urethane, or similar materials used as fabric components, including fabric items backed by these
materials.
1.3.3 - Juvenile Products: Products (not toys) used by children such as carriages, full-size cribs, gates, high
chairs, portable hook-on-chairs, strollers and walkers.
1.3.4 - Paper: Material, marketed as either paper or paperboard, with a mass per unit area of 400 g/m2 maximum.
1.3.5 - Resin-Bonded Wood: An engineered wood product made of wood based material and bonded with a type
of adhesive (e.g., plywood, particle board, chipboard, medium-density fiberboard (MDF), etc.).
1.4 - Purpose
To evaluate products for compliance to worldwide safety standards for formaldehyde content.

2 - PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Performance requirements must be met both before and after all applicable Use and Abuse testing.
2.1 - Accessible fabric and accessible paper must not contain free and hydrolyzed formaldehyde in excess of the
limits specified in Table 1 below.
2.2 - Accessible fabric of products sold in Indonesia shall not contain formaldehyde in excess of 20 mg/kg per
ISO14184 -1
2.4 - Products designed or intended to be physically applied to or introduced into a child's body, for example, finger
paints, shall not intentionally contain formaldehyde or a chemical that under normal conditions would degrade
to release formaldehyde. Toys are exempted from this requirement.
2.4.1 - Verify compliance by checking the ingredients list or bill of substances that the following
formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasers can not be contained.
3 - PROCEDURE
3.3.1 - Test and evaluate formaldehyde in accessible fabrics per ISO 14184 -1
3.3.2 - Test and evaluate formaldehyde in accessible paper per EN 645 and EN 1541
3.3.3 - Test and evaluate formaldehyde in accessible resin-bonded wood per EN 717-3
4.1 - Significance
To set forth Mattel’s requirements for formaldehyde.
