CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY

In this chapter, the researchers present the method and instrument used to

gather information from the respondents.

Research Design

The respondents utilized the descriptive method adopting the survey method in

gathering the data needed.

The study used the descriptive method of research in order to determine the

advantages of having a good quality of handmade products.

In this study, the researchers attempted to describe the respondent’s profile

and advantages of having a good quality about handmade products.

Research Instrument

The data collection instrument that was be employed in this study was the

questionnaire. According to Kothari (2004) use of a questionnaire is one of the most

common data collection tools employed in research works questionnaire are used

extensively to gather data on current condition, practices, opinion, and attitude,

quickly in a precise way (Orodho 2008). The questionnaire is a popular and

fundamental tool for acquiring information on knowledge and perception (Bulmer

2004). Questionnaire can also provide ordinal data (Which can be ranked). This often

involves using a continuous rating scale to measure the strength of attitudes or

emotions. For example, strongly agree/ agree/ agree nor disagree/ disagree/ strongly

disagree/ unable answer (Saul McLeod).

The instruments used were a researcher’s maid questionnaire Liker scale to

gather the need data for the student’s profile. The draft to the questionnaire was drawn
out base of the researchers reading, precious studies, professional literature, published

and unpublished research relevant to the study.

Statistical Treatment of Data

To describe the profile of the students, descriptive statistics using frequency

converted to percentage.

In analyzing the profile of the respondents, statistical treatment like frequency

and percentage were used.
