AIS PROJECT REPORT 22

INTRODUCTION

Fly Jinnah is a Pakistani airline and a joint venture company between the Lakson group and Air
Arabia Group. Based in Pakistan, Fly Jinnah follows the successful low-cost business that
focuses on offering comfort, reliability, and value-for-money air travel. The carrier is in the
process of acquiring its air operator's certificate and will initially serve domestic routes out of its
base in Karachi.

FLY JINNAH REVEALS BRAND IDENTITY:

Fly Jinnah, the low-cost carrier (LCC) joint venture between Air Arabia and The Lakson Group,
has provided more details this week as it edges closer to flying. Under the abbreviation 'FJ', the
carrier's visual brand identity is built around the color reduced, which it believes "reflects the
young and modern spirit of the airline."

IQBAL ALI LAKHANI, CHAIRMAN OF FLY JINNAH, SAID,

"The reveal of ‘Fly Jinnah’s’ visual identity was chosen carefully to reflect the evolution and
progression of aviation needs in Pakistan. ‘Fly Jinnah’ will not only serve Pakistan’s aviation

3
AIS PROJECT REPORT 22

industry, but it also aims to contribute to the country’s infrastructure, tourism, business travel and
the creation of new jobs. Fly Jinnah will be a catalyst to the country’s economic growth."

The airline is currently undergoing the process of obtaining its local air operator's certificate
(AOC). To begin with, Fly Jinnah will serve a range of domestic destinations from its hub at
Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, before expanding internationally.

Lakhani added,

"We are excited to provide increased frequencies on domestic services and create more direct
flight services between Pakistani cities and the world."

Fly Jinnah also announced its brand values:

 Ambition – This provides true value to customers and connects communities around the
world.
 Sincerity – which ensures honesty and the willingness to achieve and grow while striving
to improve.
 Initiative – This helps to create innovative solutions while remaining focused, practical,
and efficient.

A NEW LCC PARTNERED WITH AIR ARABIA GROUP

Air Arabia, the UAE-based LCC established in 2003, will be a minority stakeholder in Air
Jinnah. The controlling stakeholder is The Lakson Group, a Pakistani business conglomerate
headquartered in Karachi.

Lakhani said,

"We are proud to have Air Arabia Group as our minority partners in this venture and are
confident of the quality of services that our customers will receive. Air Arabia Group’s
partnership will support us in fulfilling this vision by sharing the knowledge and expertise of one
of the leading and globally recognized low-cost airline operators."

Fly Jinnah will join a small list of Pakistani airlines in a country significantly underserved in the
aviation department. There are currently just four airlines serving Pakistan's domestic market -
Pakistan International Airlines, Air Blue, Serene Air, and AirSial.

Business Models For Airlines

An airline may be defined as a business that provides routine air transportation services for
passengers or goods. The airline business is believed to encompass these enterprises as a sub-
sector of both the travel and aviation sectors.

The changing business models of airlines are examined in terms of their product offers, value-
added services, and revenue sources, as well as their target consumers.

As a result of growing competition and deregulation, there will always be a movement in the
business model. The business model, in general, specifies the way through which the airline will
make revenue.

There are several airlines operating around the world, each with its own business model.
Nonetheless, the bulk of them fit within one of four core business models:

• CARRIER COMPANIES THAT OFFER A COMPREHENSIVE RANGE OF

SERVICES

Full-service airlines in the aviation industry charge a flat rate for a wide range of pre- and post-
flight services, which are included in their costs. This includes in-flight meals as well as different
service classes such as first class, business class, and economy class, among other things.

Frequently, their operations include both passenger and freight flights, and they provide a variety
of frequent flyer programs to reward regular flyers. The majority of full-service airlines are
previously state-owned flag carriers that have been privatized in several regions of the world.
Flights for minors usually include international, domestic, long- and short-distance flights, as
well as ground transportation. Consider the following airlines as examples: United Airlines,
British Airways, American Airlines, and Lufthansa.

• TRANSPORTATION THAT IS COST-EFFECTIVE

Low-cost carriers reduce their costs in order to compete with full-service carriers and lower their
pricing. Several approaches may be used to accomplish this, including the use of smaller fleets
and aircraft, as well as giving fewer service possibilities. The company's business philosophy
places a high value on the satisfaction of its customers.

Customers benefit from low-cost airline flights since they are frequently much less expensive.
Most likely, these airlines will not offer in-flight meals or a luggage allowance in the ticket price.
As a result, if they are made available at all, clients will be required to pay individually for them.

Low-cost carriers such as EasyJet, Southwest Airlines, and Ryanair are examples of this.

5
AIS PROJECT REPORT 22

• AIR CHARTER SERVICES

As a result, charter planes, dubbed "vacation carriers" at times, are solely concerned with
supplying tourists. However, in the majority of cases, they do not provide direct purchasing of
airline tickets. Alternatively, they'll acquire tourists on their behalf through tour operators and/or
travel agencies.

Charter airlines are frequently characterized to as a "middle ground" between complete and
reduced carrier in terms of overall passenger services. The business model is built on minimizing
expenditures, similar to low-cost airlines. Occasionally, the cost of an airline ticket includes in-
flight meals and other services.

• AIR CARGO SERVICES

A cargo airline is one that is only focused on the transportation of commodities through aircraft;
it is sometimes referred to as an air freight carrier. Lufthansa Cargo and Emirates Sky Cargo are
cargo divisions of airlines that also transport people.

Two subcategories of cargo airlines are traditional cargo airlines and integrated freight airlines.
In the latter situation, the corporation is responsible for all aspects of freight transport, from
ground to air. UPS Airlines and FedEx Express are two airlines that qualify as "integrated freight
carriers."

Business Model Adopted By Fly Jinnah And Why?

As the CEO of Fly Jinnah, the business model we opt for is a minimal expense transporter simply
refer as Low Cost Carrier (LCC), plans to take wing this year. Fly Jinnah will profit from the
experience of Air Arabia which is its minority partner; it will be basically a minimal expense
carrier, very much like its accomplice. Seeing myself as a chief of fly Jinnah I’ll settle on low
cost carrier for my airline there are many reasons of picking low cost carrier yet the fundamental
explanation is as contrast with different nations Pakistan is an unfortunate country individuals
who live here are greater part of middle class who can't bear the cost of such costly tickets for
voyaging additionally the quantity of planes our carrier have is extremely restricted right
currently they're two altogether because of this reason as well we can't charge higher paces of
tickets from our travelers. We have two accomplices one is Lackson group and the other one is
Air Arabia one of Pakistan's driving and most expanded business combinations. Our carrier
follows the effective low cost business that spotlights on offering solace, unwavering quality, and
an incentive for-cash air travel. Assuming we look forward we have contest with two airline's one
is Airblue and the other one is AirSial as the two of them are low cost carriers keeping this is
mind our carrier likewise pick low cost since, supposing that we'll charge high rates we'll not be
able to thrive our aircraft as no one will fly with us because of high charges. Fundamentally A
Low-Cost Carrier is an aircraft that doesn't offer customary administrations that are regularly
included as a feature of the admission, along these lines offering lower tolls to the detriment of

6

fewer solaces. This generally implies that stuff isn't given, or the food and beverages that are
presented by other more exceptional transporters.

What Is Airline Reservation System/Computer Reservation System?

An "airline reservation" is a legal contract whereby an airline undertakes, in exchange for a
certain amount of money, to provide a seat to a specific passenger by plane on a specific flight
from one specified airport to another. Airline reservation system (ARS) is an online platform
which is offering by an airline to their respective passengers. ARS are system that allows an
airline to sell their seats. In an airline reservation system every single thing is clearly mention on
their systems contains information on schedule and fares and contains a database of reservations
(passenger name records) and of tickets issued.

Flight Reservation System plays an important role in airline companies to maximize sales of
tickets, increased the number of valuable customers and also improving the brand image of the
company. In this modern era of globalization, most travelers use flight as a means of transport.

The following details are required when we make a flight reservation?

Input each traveler's personal information, including full name, date of birth, email address and
phone number when booking a flight. You'll need to indicate whether any traveler is under 18
years of age or is a newborn or infant being held in a lap.

The following 2 ways from where can easily book your airline tickets.

• To reserve your ticket by online.

• To reserve your ticket through a third person (travel agent).

TO RESERVE YOUR TICKET BY ONLINE:

Being able to book an airfare online means you can do it any time of the day, wherever you are.
You can book a flight at home, while you're in the office and even when you're on your way
somewhere, via a laptop or a smartphone. The plus point is that you can compare the ticket price
from another airline so easily.

TO RESERVE YOUR TICKET THROUGH A THIRD PERSON (TRAVEL AGENT):

A Travel agent will book you in any class you want - the price for any given class is set by the
airline. The cheaper the price the 'lower' the class and more restrictions are changes,
cancellations, etc. If you want flexibility the AIRLINE will charge more, no matter who you
book through.

travel spending worldwide is now at $504 billion. The airline industry is booming—and that’s
partly thanks to corporate travel.

8
AIS PROJECT REPORT 22

So, how does airline reservation software make managing these flights easier for everyone
involved? Let’s take a look.

It’s quick and easy

As a business, time is money, and when it comes to booking and managing corporate travel, there
can often be a lot of back and forth.

Airline reservation software can make booking travel and managing flight schedules much easier.
It’s quicker to manage all of your business travel needs, and you’re never far from support if
needs be.

For both small and big businesses, any time and resources saved is a good thing!

 HELPS FIND THE BEST DEALS

Shopping around for deals on travel is a hassle most travel managers and travelers would prefer
to avoid. Some may charge more during certain times of the day, year, or even the weather from
your browsing location! Others may be limited in what’s available.

An airline reservation software can help you and your team to hone in on the best deals that are
available as and when you need them. It benefits the business by helping cut the cost of travel—
allowing for better revenue management.

Often, these airline reservation systems have all of the relevant airline providers and flights
scheduled in real-time, so you’re getting accurate results. Plus, some solutions offer negotiated
rates to ensure you won’t find a better deal elsewhere.

 ENHANCES USER EXPERIENCE

Airline reservation systems are available 24/7—users aren't limited as to when and where they
book. Giving an unlimited availability of booking can help enhance the user's experience.

Ease of use when booking flights or any type of travel is important. Having a UI that's too
complex or that requires the user to go back and forth with customer support can be frustrating.
With these online reservation systems, everything is in one place, and easily accessible.

What To Look For In Airline Reservation Software?

When it comes to booking corporate travel, what should you be looking for in an airline
reservation system? There are a number of features you should consider before making your
decision.

 API INTEGRATED

9
AIS PROJECT REPORT 22

Making airline bookings is a lot smoother when the software has comprehensive API integration
options. These make it possible for different programs you use for business operations to talk to
one another throughout the booking process.

 LARGE TRAVEL INVENTORY

Airline reservation systems can offer a wider inventory when booking travel. It’s a good idea to
seek out those softwares that boast a large inventory—you get more options and better deals.

The more options the better—these businesses often spend time building partnerships with key
players in the airline industry. They can then offer you top deals for no added cost.

 FREQUENT FLYER OR LOYALTY PROGRAMS

Some airline reservation systems allow you to gain points and rewards when booking with them.
These points can then be used toward miles or upgrades, further saving you money.

Having everything in one place is made even better when you don’t have to miss out on loyalty
and rewards programs. Consider how important this is to you when making your decision.

 INTEGRATION OF PAYMENT GATEWAYS AND VARIOUS OPTIONS

As travel technology changes and evolves so too do your payment options. Never before would
you have paid for travel from your phone, but now that’s happening more and more.

You want to ensure your chosen solution offers a variety of payment gateways. Look out for the
big ones, such as credit and debit cards, but also other options, like eWallets and the likes.

 EASY-TO-USE INTERFACE

As with any software or tool, it’s essential that everyone has a good understanding of how to use
it. Make sure that the software doesn’t require hours of training to use and master—you want a
user-friendly tool, with easy onboarding.

Some software companies will offer demos of their software so that you can get a feel for how
you use it and to identify any pinch points you may have when using the software initially. This
is a great time to figure out if this tool is something you could see your team using in the future.

 PRICING

10
AIS PROJECT REPORT 22

There are multiple different pricing models that these softwares follow—make sure you're happy
with how it fits into your budget. Sometimes you pay per user, other times you pay per trip.
Consider which tariff option is better for you and decide accordingly.
