1. Εισαγωγή
Παιδιά, θέλω σήμερα να σας κάνω μιά
ερώτηση. Εσείς προσεύχεστε; Κάνετε την
προσευχή σας πρωί και βράδυ; (Ναι,
κύριε, κάνουμε την προσευχή μας).
Σε ποιόν προσεύχεστε; (Στο Θεό).
Και τι λέτε στην προσευχή σας; (Τα παιδιά
θα πούν διάφορες προσευχές που λένε, και
μεταξύ αυτών και το Πάτερ ημών).
1. Introduction
I want to start today’s lesson with a
question. Do you pray?
Do you pray both in the morning and at
night? (Yes we pray). To whom do you
pray? (To God). And what do you say in
your prayers? (The kids will mention the
different prayers they say, and amongst
them the Lord's Prayer).
Discuss how much they pray and why we
need to pray before continuing with the
narration below.

2. Διήγηση
Και ξέρετε, παιδιά, ότι το Πάτερ ημών,
είναι η πιό σπουδαία προσευχή που
μπορούμε να πούμε; Γιατί;
Γιατί, αυτήν την προσευχή μας την δίδαξε ο
Κύριος, ο Χριστός, να την λέμε, και γι' αυτό
λέγεται και "Κυριακή προσευχή!".
2. Narration
Do you know that the Lord's Prayer is
the most important prayer we can say?
Why do you think this is so?
Because the Lord Jesus Christ taught us
to use this prayer; and that's why it's
called The Lord's Prayer.
Μιά μέρα, όταν ο Χριστός προσευχόταν γιά
πολύ ώρα, εθαύμασαν οι μαθητές του, και
έλεγαν μέσα τους - " τί λέει τόσην ώρα;".
Γι' αυτό όταν τελείωσε την προσευχή του,
πήγαν κοντά του και τον παρακάλεσαν
(begged him) να τους διδάξει (teach
them), να τους εξηγήσει πώς πρέπει και
αυτοί να προσεύχονται. Και ο Χριστός τους
είπε αυτή την προσευχή.

προσοχή για τον εαυτό του το κείμενο και
τη μετάφραση από την Καινή Διαθήκη -
Τρεμπέλα, -- Ματθ. 6' 9-13).
1. Πάτερ ημών ο εν τοις ουρανοίς,
• Πατέρα μας, που είσαι στούς
ουρανούς
2. Αγιασθήτω το όνομά Σου,
• Ας είναι αγιασμένο και δοξασμένο
το όνομά σου
3. Ελθέτω η βασιλεία Σου,
• Ας είναι να έλθη η βασιλεία σου
και η δύναμή σου στους
ανθρώπους
4. Γενηθήτω το θέλημά Σου,
• Ωστε όλοι οι άνθρωποι να κάνουν
το θέλημά σου
One day when Jesus was praying for a
long time, his disciples were amazed and
they thought - what is he saying for such
a long time? So when He finished His
prayers, they approached Him and
begged Him to teach them how they
should pray. And Jesus taught them the
following prayer.
(At this point the teacher should read
out the Lord’s prayer, below.
Recommended reading prior to the lesson
is the relevant commentary from the
greek NT with Trembela’s translation, or
from the english Orthodox Study Bible.

The teacher should also hand out the
activity sheet to the kids so they can see
the text of the Lord's Prayer as the
teacher explains each verse.
1. Our Father in Heaven
• Our Father who is in heaven
2. Hallowed be Thy Name
• May Your Name be Holy and
glorified
3. Your Kingdom come
• May Your kingdom and Your
power come to all people on
earth
4. Your will be done
• So that all people can do Your
will
5. Ως εν ουρανώ και επί της γής,
• Όπως γίνεται στον ουρανό από
τους αγγέλους, έτσι να γίνεται και
στη γή από τους ανθρώπους
6. Τον άρτον ημών τον επιούσιον, δός ημίν
σήμερον,
• Δόσε μας ψωμί και ότι μας
χρειάζεται να ζήσει το σώμα και
η ψυχή μας
7. Και άφες ημίν τα οφειλήματα ημών,
• Και συγχώρησε τις αμαρτίες που
κάναμε απέναντί σου
8. Ως και ημείς αφίεμεν τοις οφειλέταις
ημών,
• Όπως και εμείς συγχωρούμε
αυτούς που μας έβλαψαν
9. Και μη εισενέγκης ημάς εις πειρασμόν,
• Και μη επιτρέπεις να πέσουμε σε
πειρασμόν
10. Αλλά ρύσαι ημάς από του πονηρού
• Αλλά γλύτωσέ μας από τον
πονηρόν (τον διάβολο) που μας
πολεμά.
5. On earth as it is in Heaven
• as Your will is done in heaven
by the angels, so may it also
be done on earth by all people
6. Give us today our daily bread
• Give us the food and all that
we need, so that our body
and soul can live
7. And forgive us our sins
• And forgive us the sins we
have committed against You
8. As we forgive those that have
sinned against us
• Just like we forgive those
that did something bad to us
9. And lead us not into temptation
• And do not allow us to fall
into temptation
10.But deliver us from evil
• But deliver us from the devil
who fights us
3. Εμβάθυνση:
• Οι στίχοι 1, 2 και 3, ξέρει κανείς σας τι
θέλουν να μας πουν;
Το ότι πρέπει να ζητούμε να δοξάζεται ο
Θεός
• Εάν έτσι είναι τα πράγματα, εμείς τι
μπορούμε να κάνουμε γι' αυτό τον
σκοπό;
Να εργαζόμαστε για την δόξα του Θεού -
π.χ. να μιλάμε στα άλλα παιδιά για τον Θεό,
να κάνουμε ό,τι θέλει ο Θεός, να βοηθάμε
τους άλλους, να φέρνουμε και άλλα παιδιά
στο Κατηχητικό Σχολείο, κτλ.
• Και τι άλλο μπορούμε να ζητούμε από
τον Θεό με αυτήν την προσευχή;
Να μας δίνει ότι χρειαζόμαστε για να
ζήσουμε.
Να μας συγχωράει τις αμαρτίες μας.
Να μας προστατεύει από τον διάβολο.
• Και όταν ζητούμε διάφορα πράγματα από
τον Θεό, θα μας τα δώσει;
Και βέβαια - οι Άγιοι ό,τι ήθελαν, το
ζητούσαν από τον Θεό, καί το έπαιρναν
αμέσως, χωρίς καθυστέρηση.
3. Analysis
The following are various points for
discussion with the students
• Does anyone know what verses 1),
2) and 3) of the prayer are trying to tell
us?
That we should ask for God's name to be
glorified.
• So what can we do to achieve this
aim, in other words, to work for the glory
of God? We can, for example, speak to
other kids about God; we can strive to do
everything that God wants from us; we
can help others; we can bring other kids
to Sunday School etc.
• And what else can we ask God for
through that prayer?
That He will give us everything we need
in our lives.
That He will forgive all our sins
That He will protect us from the devil
• And when we ask for various things
from God, will He give them to us?
Of course – whatever the Saints wanted,
they asked God for it, and they received
it immediately, without delay.

Ο Θεός ακούει πάντα τις προσευχές μας.
