Most (or almost all) young people have an account on at least one social network. Is that good? Is this bad? This certainly has its advantages and disadvantages. The large-scale use of social networks by young people makes it increasingly relevant for schools, which intend to contribute to the formation of active and informed citizens, to address the problem associated with social networks. This project aims to make young people aware not only of the risks of abusive use of social networks and how they can/should protect themselves, but also of their potential as an easy and fast means of communication, which can be quite effective. to draw people's attention to noble causes such as humanitarian aid. Finally, and as a corollary of this awareness, young people are expected to change any risky behaviour in terms of their use of social networks. OBJECTIVES • Develop linguistic competence in English; • Communicate online on a local, national and international scale; • Promoting autonomy in researching and processing information, using technological sources and supports; • Identify types of abusive use of social networks and respective dangers; • Identify ways of using social networks ethically and with impact; • Develop critical and analytical thinking; • Promoting the confrontation of different ideas and perspectives on the subject under analysis; • Accept/Respect different points of view; • Promote peer support and collaboration in different tasks; • Develop awareness and fulfilment of responsibilities; • Develop the capacity for self and hetero-evaluation in relation to the work carried out. WORKPLAN Initial online meeting between the partner schools to discuss the work plan, share ideas, define the digital platforms to be used depending on the activities to be carried out at each moment, create a TwinSpace (whose organization will be agreed between the partners) and divide tasks and responsibilities among teachers. Online meeting (‘Get to know each other’) for better knowledge between partners. Discussion with students about online safety rules (e-safety). Preparation, by each school, of a poster alluding to the topic (e-safety), using, for example, canva. Students prepare a presentation to introduce themselves, their city and their country (powerpoint/video presentation). Presentations from each country are placed in the TwinSpace. Students create a communication channel (eg WhatsApp/Teams) and create an account on a social network (eg Instagram), which will be an important means of publicizing the project abroad. Launch of the contest to create the project's logo.
