Significance of the Study

This main goal of this study is to develop a prototype that functions for long-
distance water level monitoring with the use of hydroelectricity as its main source
of power for observation of potential floodings on affected areas. Thus, this study
may be beneficial and instrumental to the following subjects:

To Residents. Through conducting the study, residents often affected by floods will
be immediately notified by authorities of the possible floodings giving them
sufficient time for preparations and evacuations if needed. Thus, damages of
properties, accidents, and dangers on life will be reduced and minimized ensuring
the safety of residents usually affected by floods.
To Government. This study will benefit government and authorities from long-
distance monitoring of water levels in rivers. With this, announcements from the
authorities regarding potential floodings and hazards on affected areas will be
done immediately. The said prototype will be instrumental for the decision-making
and warnings to secure the safety of its residents and people, decreasing risks and
hazards from the floods.
To DRRMO. The implementation of the prototype will be beneficial for DRRMO
maximizing its role on protecting the properties, environment, especially the lives
of the people. Furthermore, this prototype will also serve as an innovative
instrument for its self-sustainability for using hydroelectricity as its main
source of power.
To Future Researchers. This study will serve as an effective reference for future
researchers for the development of new researches and studies addressing problems
related to this study.
