PREDISPOSITION

 By looking on the biological factor, there’s no evidence of his family having the disorders, it was
not clearly stated in the case. So, I conclude that Mustafa doesn’t meet the underlying biological
factors.
 Basing on the psychological factor, why he feels nauseous and burping when interacting people
where the symptoms came from even though he had no medical and physical issues. I think the
one factor of having that symptom is that, he encountered sexual intercourse at the age of 14.
And he is afraid if the whole town will discover of his wrong doings. He also experienced
identical confusion and conflicts which can cause internal conflict both in societal and religious
views.
 In cultural factors, it clearly stated that Mustafa is a Muslim man, we can’t deny that in their
culture and we respect their culture. We can still see the strict prohibition of Muslims when it
comes to expressing gender identity. In his case they lived in a culture which they follow the
standard of cultural norms.
 When it comes to social factors, we can see that Mustafa’s childhood is have more friends with
females than male and possibly he will adapt the feminism manner and yes it stated that his
therapist found that he exhibits effeminate mannerism. And as we know that his father has a
wide emphasis regarding gender roles and expectations. His father favored Mustafa to proceed
a major that is traditionally for men. So, the problems is, Mustafa has a risk factors especially he
already experienced sexual intercourse with a same sex and he now had an idea of being
ashamed by his family and community.

PRECIPITANTS

In Mustafa’s part when he encountered sexual intercourse at the age of 14, due to his curiosity, he
agreed to have a sexual intercourse to an older boy. In his state Mustafa now feeling bothered, stressed,
anxious because of the sexual activity they’ve done homosexually and he lived a life of a very strict
culture and prohibit when identity crisis. Being Muslim, we should learn that it rejects homosexuality.
Because of this case he experienced nausea and burping that prevented him to social interact, and this
possibly the factors or the stressor that made him ashamed and hide his identity.

 After his sexual encounter he develops the symptoms such as burping and nauseous abnormally
and be the reason to prevented him from other people.
 His family has a big influence on his identity confusion and suffering. We all know that in his
presentation his father always wanted to have a son, in this way he always follows and decide
what his father like, even though he didn’t want to. That’s why there’s a conflict between his
true feelings towards his family and the culture.
 In his childhood he is surrounded by the female, for short he made a female friend. The reason
why he realized that he like boys. It also stated here that he don’t understand himself by just
identifying his true identity so he reported that he is sexually attracted to both genders but
never been done in girls.

PERPETUANTS

The problem that maintains the problem of Mustafa is he’s afraid to be judge by his parents and culture
society. This made him hide his identity from everyone. Due to cultural beliefs, norms, stereotypes,
religious beliefs. This factor may the barrier and problem in his case. He cannot express because of these
factors that prevented him to be open.

also develops coping strategies hat help target and solve problems.
 Refer Mustafa to attend in therapy, in his therapy, he can express himself using anything what
he likes, anything he want since childhood. A technique that can help him to express something
that may improve his mental and at the same time healing. It can help Mustafa to develop his
self-awareness, coping stress, to know his self slowly, work and manage his emotions, working
on social skill and increased his self-esteem.
 Lastly, I want to help Mustafa to learn and identify maladaptive thoughts, negative emotions
and change it to a positive one.

LONG TERM GOALS:

 When it comes to his physical symptoms nauseous and burping, he needs a goal of learn to
manage stress, self-awareness, work with other people seriously since it can help to Mustafa

symptoms of nauseous and burping.
 We should help Mustafa improve his self-acceptance and self-esteem so that when the day he
will confess it to his family and in around his ton he can manage and he already face the
situation.

PROGNOSIS

The prognosis is that Mustafa is still in fine and there’s nothing wrong about his life and self too. Where I
fact, he still interacting with his family or a close of him. It’s not a big deal to diagnose him in some
disorder because he showed natural feeling and he is still in his goal and had a good functioning, there’s
nothing wrong about being confused since he was just afraid of the consequences if he tells the world
what’s his identity. It’s just afraid and distressing him the factors involving the socially, psychologically,
religious and cultural expectations.
