VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE

My name is ______Ibrahim Omar _________________ from Somali Development and Research


Organization (SODRO) operating in Somalia as a local consulting and development firm. We are
conducting household interviews on behalf of SRCS to inform the development of the final
evaluation report for the ‘Supporting Drought-Affected Communities through Cash and Voucher
Assistance (CVA) for Health in Somalia’ project implemented by the organization between
September 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023. The project focused on transferring cash vouchers to
selected members of the community wish assessed needs. You are selected to participate in this
interview because we believe that you have adequate understanding of the project and are able to
divulge meaningful information that can support the shaping of future interventions from the
lessons that we will learn from this end-of-project evaluation. The interview will take about 10-
12 minutes.

1. In what areas related to the project were the volunteers trained in?
I received training on how to help poor people such as women, the disabled and awareness of
infectious diseases.
2. Are there any challenges encountered in their training or engagement in the project? If yes, how
was this addressed (or how could it have been addressed)?
A: No, there are no obstacles, but when people are informed, they accuse us of taking up projects
without considering their benefits.
3. Are there any training gaps that the project did not cover but which are considerably useful and
needed for the project?
A: There are no gaps in the training we have received and it has perfectly met the needs of the
community.
4. What kind of training did you receive as a part of SRCS CVA project?
A: I received training on disaster management and how to prevent disaster and how to help people who
are suffering from health.
5. Do you feel that the training you received was beneficial for your ability to provide health,
hygiene and nutrition counselling to beneficiaries?
A: He says yes because we give awareness about problems like malnutrition and other diseases in
order to have a healthy society.
6. What could be done to make future training of this kind more effective for helping you to
improve health care seeking behaviour?
A : would say that the staff should be trained to improve their skills related to environmental protection
such as health centers.

7. Do you think the training that you received will have a lasting impact on your ability to provide
health, hygiene and nutrition counselling?
A: He is involved in helping people to give them things that are useful for themselves and to tell
people to use nutritious foods to make their bodies strong

8. What kind of training or interventions do you think would be most helpful for mitigating the
effects of malnutrition in your community?
A: Advise people to bring their children to SRCS Centers while they are sick to monitor their
health.
9. Is there anything else you would like to add about SRCS or its programming?
A: I would say that the transport to the center should be increased to help sick people who come
to the center like pregnant mothers and small children living in the villages .
10. What do you feel that you and your colleagues need to better improve healthcare seeking
behaviour.
A: need to be written on a regular salary so that we can have continuous motivation that will
enable me and my friends to continue to help the needy people
