GHD Global Annual Leave Purchase Programme Overview

GHD is committed to supporting our people in maintaining a healthy balance between their work and
personal life. This benefit is designed to provide options for flexible work and leave to assist with caring for
family members, undertaking study, fitness and hobby interests, or travel.
Purchase Leave provides eligible employees with the option to purchase up to 4 weeks extra leave that
is funded via a pre-tax payroll deduction each pay. For staff with unique needs such as transition to
retirement, caring responsibilities, etc., GHD will consider applications of up to 8 weeks of additional leave
in total.
The programme is open to all employees, with the exception of casual workers and work-placements.
You can elect to start to purchase leave at any point in the year and cancel your payments at any time.
Payments are spread over a 12 month period.
If your salary/compensation changes throughout the year, the deductions for Purchase Leave will be
altered accordingly. The deduction is a fixed amount each payroll period and is based on the following
percentages of salary:

1 1.92%

2 3.85%

3 5.77%

4 7.69%
Note: whilst taking any form of unpaid leave your Purchase Leave salary deduction and accrual will be pro-
rated accordingly.

Example:
The pre-tax deduction from salary is determined as per for following example (based on a full-time working
week of 40 hours):
Annual Salary £52,000

Purchase Leave (2 weeks) – Annual Amount £2,000

Payroll Pre-Tax Deductions £166.67 (monthly payroll)
