The area that we currently reside in does not have an accessible beach volleyball court. The nearest
one is a singular court at Orvillright park off of Watt ave. and the nearest facilities at Crab park in
Roseville. This is about a 25 to 35 minute drive away. It is also 17.4 miles away. Another park that is in the
area is the turf volleyball complex in Folsom, ca. This is a 18 to 25 mile drive depending on what road you
are taking. This is anywhere from a 20 to 40 minute drive. These are quite far from this area and require a
long drive to make it to them. Our courts are a close option for all people in the area and would cut the
driving time and cost of gas by lots.

The objective for the project is to make an accessible place for people to gather and play volleyball
and tennis. This facility will provide seating for 250+ people, it will also have shade provided by the
surrounding trees. It will have two restrooms, one stand alone and one incorporated with the admin and
sport building. The functions of the bathrooms are for people to relieve themselves, but the support part of
one of the buildings helps provide a snackbar, and a control space for event advisors and park staff.
Parking will be integrated into the design of the facility.

Materials and Design Plans
The materials required for this project are as followed
● Silica Sand
● Cinder blocks
● Net systems
● Asphalt
● Lights
These materials can be acquired from local Home depots, Teichert Aggregates - Perkins
Facility, and Big 5 Sporting goods.

We will also have to excavate the bottom right side of the park for a parking lot. It is
estimated to be around 24,000 square feet. An excavation team will be required.

One similar facility that serves the same purpose is called “Raney Sand Volleyball
Courts”. It houses sand volleyball courts and they are held for simple matches or grand
events. The courts are sponsored by the pacific tigers, a sports team. The courts finished
construction in 2013 and three of the courts are named by donors to the courts and recently
(don’t know how recent) they’ve added a scoreboard for official events like tournaments and
competitions or petty disputes.
