Reporting Schedule
You should report at the university as per your reporting schedule available on the university’s website www.lpu.in and on the link
https://www.lpu.in/international/reporting‐schedule‐pickup‐services.php. In case you come earlier or too late at the university than the
prescribed reporting schedule, you might not be allowed to join the university and may be asked to go back to the home country. It is solely
student’s responsibility to complete all required formalities and documentation in time (like applying for the visa, fees, tickets booking etc.)
and join the university as per the induction schedule. It is mandatory to maintain minimum 75% attendance in each course to sit in the End
Term Examination. There will be no relaxation in attendance or evaluation process for late reported students due to any reason whatsoever.
University may also cancel your admission in case you report at the university beyond the prescribed time.

English Language Requirements


The language of instructions in the university is English and it is recommended that all international students applying for admission in the
regular programme should be proficient in the English Language (strong reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English Language).
University will not be responsible for any problem faced by the student in class due to lack of proficiency in the English Language. In case the
University apprises that the student is not proficient in English, the student might be asked to join English Language Program concurrently
with the regular program. The University can also change his enrolled program and put him in any other program deemed appropriate for him
by the University or may cancel his/her admission in the regular programme. In all such cases, there will be no relaxation in the exam or any
other component of the evaluation of the university. In case an international student wants to cancel his/her admission from regular
programme due to lack of understanding of English Language, the refund will be processed as per the refund policy for international students.

Health Insurance
Health insurance is an additional facility provided by the university to its international students in getting the limited financial support (up to
INR 200,000) in case of any medical emergency (subject to Health Insurance Claim Policy). The insurance will be affected after the
commencement of the insurance policy that generally takes 30 days after reporting at the campus. Student will be individually responsible to
provide the required documents to insurance company and to claim as well. University will not be liable for any kind of medical claim
whatsoever in this regard. Student may bring the health insurance policy at their own for the cover of non‐insured time or in case they want
the higher coverage.

Refund Policy
Refund or de‐allocation of any facilities would be made as per the refund policy for international students for the respective batch only.
Application Form (for refund of Programme Fee/Hostel Fee/Food Fee/Laundry Fee/Transport/Parking fee, etc.), duly filled in and signed by the
applicant, and received by the last date of refunds prescribed by the university for International students will only be accepted. Refund
applications received after last date or without proper information / format, or request for refund as a plain email, will not be considered for
refunds.

Guidelines for Students Related to Visa

1. All International students can apply for the Indian Visa through online application link:‐ https://indianvisaonline.gov.in
2. No hand written application form will be accepted by any of the Indian Mission/ Post, where‐ever online Visa facility has been
implemented.
3. The application form completed in all respect and submitted successfully, is to be submitted at the concerned Indian Visa Application
Center (IVAC) or directly to Indian Mission/ Post in absence of IVAC, on the scheduled date of interview along with the requisite
supporting documents:‐
Acceptance Letter issued by Lovely Professional University.
Bonafide certificate issued by Lovely Professional University (3rd page of this Acceptance Letter).
Duly signed and filled‐in Visa Application Form.
Passport (valid for a minimum of six months beyond the date of intended departure from India).

7. While applying for visa, student should mention the name of the institute i.e., Lovely Professional University and should make sure that
“Student Visa” is endorsed for Lovely Professional University by the visa issuing authority and for no other institution or purpose.
8. Request to change of university or institution will not be considered. In such case student would be required to go back to his/her
country to get a new visa and there will be no relaxation in attendance, extra time to complete assignments, opportunity to submit
missed assignments, opportunity to sit for missed examination(s), relaxation in marks etc. until otherwise decided by the university.
9. While in India, the student shall be governed by the Indian laws. If the student is involved in any legal issue, he/she shall be responsible
for bearing the financial burden of his/her legal representation as well as the outcome of the trial.
10. If a student enters India on the basis of documents provided by this university, it is his/ her responsibility to ensure to report directly
at this university. The visa, endorsed in the name of this university or obtained on the basis of documents obtained from this
university, cannot be used for any other purpose like employment, admission to any other university/college/institute/academy etc. or
for non‐regular (distance/online) mode of education.
11. It is student’s responsibility that throughout the study period, he/she is on a valid visa and in case the initial visa is not endorsed for
the complete duration of the programme or in case a student has to extend his/her stay because of not being able to complete the
programme in the stipulated minimum duration of programme, he/she should apply for extension of the visa before it expires and
within prescribed time.
12. In case a student reports to the university late because of delayed visa or any other reason whatsoever, he/she will not be given any
relaxation in attendance, extra time to complete assignments, opportunity to submit missed assignments, opportunity to sit for missed
examination(s), relaxation in marks etc. until otherwise decided by the university.
13. If a student joins the university late, the university holds the right to deny admission to such a student as deemed necessary. In such a
case, the fees deposited will be forfeited and also no claim for expense made for travelling, visa or any other expense made by the
student will be entertained by the university.
14. If a student leaves India after joining the university, it is the responsibility of the student to return back at the university in time. In
some cases, where visa extension is required, it is the responsibility of the student to ensure to get visa extended in time.

Important instructions for reporting at the University

1. You should submit the entire due fee before reporting at the university. Failing, may lead to cancellation of the admission.
2. Following documents in original as well as translated in English Language (duly attested) are required to be produced at the time of
reporting for completing the verification process in the applied programme: ‐
All Transcripts/ Certificates/Degree/ Diploma of previous qualifications
Permanent residential proof (complete and clear address in English should be mentioned).
Valid Passport.
Valid India “Student Visa” endorsed in the name of “Lovely Professional University” only.
Medical Fitness Certificate from home country.
Passport size 4 photographs.
Offer Letter and Acceptance Letter issued by the university (2 Copies of each letter).
Copy of lease/rent agreement in case student does not use the university residential facility and opts to stay outside the
campus in rental/ PG or such other accommodation.

Important Information

1. Submission of application form, fee, any other document; acknowledgement, thereof, by the university, or, Issuing of ID card, Offer
Letter, Acceptance Letter, registration number etc do not guarantee admission to any programme of the university.
2. After reporting (joining) at the university, it is mandatory for the student to get the original certificates verified from the concerned
department of the university. The admission and scholarship will be confirmed after verification of the original certificates of qualifying
examination. Failing to submit the required documents on time may lead to cancellation of admission and scholarship. In such cases,
students will not be eligible for any kind of refund.
3. Applicants awaiting their final results or yet to appear for the qualifying exam must furnish the result of the qualifying exam to the
university, either before starting journey from Home Country, or on joining the university, or before the last date of provisional
registration, whichever is later. The university may not allow a student to join the Programme if he/she fails to provide such certificates
by the stipulated time.
4. You should report as per your reporting schedule, University may strike off the name of the late reported student from its rolls, and
cancel his/her admission, residential facility and other facilities, without providing any notice or clarification. Student will not be
eligible for any refund in such cases.
5. In case of Dual Degree Programme, fee and scholarship mentioned in the Offer Letter is for the first Degree/Diploma Programme only
and the Programme Fee for the higher Degree/Programme will be applicable as mentioned in international booklet/ University
Prospectus 2023, No scholarship will be applicable on higher degree programme.
6. If it deems necessary for the larger interest, the university can cancel the admission and ask a student to leave the country. In such
cases, fee deposited shall stand forfeited and also no claim for the expenses made for travelling, visa or any other expense made by the
student will be entertained. The university shall not be liable in any way.
7. The applicant will be personally and solely liable to fulfill the requisite formalities and get permission from concerned authorities of the
government and other concerned authorities for entry, study and stay in India. The university does not /will not assume any liability in
this regard.
8. You have to pay the complete Programme Fee (first semester) and residential fee (for complete academic year) before reporting at the
university. In addition, student may be required to pay such/ other fee and charges as prescribed in the university booklet 2023 or
otherwise prescribed by university. Fee for the successive semester/ Academic year has to be cleared before the end of teaching of
preceding semester/ Academic year as per schedule announced by the university. Please ensure that the payment plan is communicated
well in advance to your sponsor / parents to avoid any inconvenience:‐

university.
10. Student should retain the fee transfer proof; it is the responsibility of the student/applicant to ensure to update the confirmation of
Fee transfer in the online application portal while applying & subsequently to Division of Finance of the university, once joined.
11. Subsequent Fee Payment to the University for Programme/Accommodation/Food/Laundry or any other fee prescribed by the university
from time to time can only be paid in USD (except for students from Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka).
12. All the charges related to available residential facility also including electricity charges, maintenance charges, damage/breakage charges
as if prescribed will have to be borne by the student and needs to be cleared before vacating the residential facility, unless otherwise
prescribed by the university.
13. Scholarship (if any) will be applicable only on per semester Programme Fee for the standard duration of the programme, and will not
cover any other charges like reappear or backlog in any course, or even if a student sits for examination to get the pass grades or to
improve the grades.
14. International students who are considering pursuing an education at our university should be aware that the degree equivalency of our
programs may vary depending on the country or region in which they intend to use their degree. We strongly recommend that
international students contact the relevant authorities in their home country to determine the degree equivalency of our programs. It
is the responsibility of the individual student to ensure that their educational credentials are recognized and accepted by the relevant
authorities in their home country, and our university cannot be held responsible for any discrepancies or issues that may arise in this
regard.
15. Charges (if any) for the visa extension or FRRO registration or fulfillment of any other formality, has to be borne by the student only and
shall be the sole responsibility of the student.
16. In case you have been issued any kind of notice or communication that makes you not eligible to stay/ study in India, kindly inform the
university and do not complete the joining process. In case you still complete your joining process and the university is not being
informed, your admission would be cancelled in between your studies and refund (if any) would be processed as per the refund policy
of the university.
17. Lovely Professional University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India.
The university is not responsible to provide equivalency of its programme out of India. It is advisable to verify the equivalency in your
home country for the programme you are applying at LPU.
18. This Acceptance Letter is valid for the session of August 2023 only and cannot be used for the next intake.

FRRO Registration (Foreigner Regional Registration Office)

1. As per present Government of India guidelines, international students have to apply for the FRRO within first 14 days of arrival in India.
Student must ensure to submit the copy of FRO certificate to the University within 21 days of arrival in India, failing to which may result
in cancellation of the admission and the student shall be himself/herself responsible for all consequences whatsoever arising due to
default/failure in this regard, of sole risk and cost of student only.
2. A student with a PIO (Person of Indian Origin) Card also has to register at the FRRO. Only OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) Card holders
need not register. Students must seek the updated information from the Ministry of External Affair website (www.mea.gov.in).
3. Presently, a fee (refer link:‐ https://indianfrro.gov.in/eservices/home.jsp ) equivalent in INR, is being charged for over‐stay and/ or late
registration (i.e. after 14 days of arrival date in India). The immigration processing fees and other related expenses have to be
additionally borne by the student.
4. It is the responsibility of the student to inform the designated FRRO in case he/she is leaving the country (both in case of temporary
movement like going for holidays and also in case a student wants to permanently leave the country because his/her programme is over
or he/she wants to discontinue the programme or he/she is expelled or is denied admission).
5. A student is not required to register himself/herself on each visit as long as he/she is visiting on the same visa against which he/she
was registered earlier with the FRRO. However, a registered foreigner needs to report to FRRO/FRO if he/she re‐enters India on a fresh
visa. Further, if a registered foreigner obtains a new passport during the validity of his registration and visa, then he/she is required to
get the visa transferred on to his new passport from the FRRO/FRO. A student has to get extension of FRO in case of visa extension or
passport renewal.
6. The university may seek any information from the student as per recent guidelines defined by the government from time to time.
7. It is the student’s responsibility to comply with all the visa/foreigner registration and other formalities as prescribed by the government
of India from time to time. Thus, a student is advised to regularly visit website of Ministry of External Affairs www.mea.gov.in and other
concerned websites to avoid any legal or other complication and hassle.
