Snake bite prevention & first aid
• Wear closed shoes and long trousers outdoors,
• at all times.
• Do not sit down without looking around first.
• Wear gloves when handling equipment, lifting
• pipes and dislodging logs or stones.
• Be careful when opening the bonnet of your
• vehicle.
• Avoid sleeping on the ground.
• Never touch or approach a snake even if it
• looks dead.
• Remain at a safe distance from the snake.
• Don't play with it or try to kill the snake yourself.
• Inform the Radio Room immediately if you
• encounter a snake.
• Juvenile snakes are as dangerous as adults.
