Half number of the group have read only on certain class wall and the other half group
read on the other wall side.
Make sure that they may not read aloud or shout the statement to the writer.
Give them 10 minutes to complete the task

Critical thinking points

- Knowledge construction : Categorize statement to its function
- Evaluating and reasoning: decide whether the information they get goes to be
pro or con

Motion: Cell phones should be allowed in class

Pro:
Stating statement: Banning cell phones is totally unfair! So, I agree to the motion that
cell phones should be allowed in class.
Argument with cause and effect: Kids have to be able to communicate with their
parents, especially if there’s an emergency, so they will get direct help.
Example: When kids get bullied in school or kidnapped, they can directly call their
parents.
Impact: In emergency situation, cellphone is a live saver.

Con
Stating statement: What does a kid need a cellphone for? I disagree to the motion that
cell phones should be allowed in class.
Argument with cause and effect:Today’s cell phones have so many apps, games and
social media, and it is only class lesson distraction.
Example:The fact is cell phones are really just a way of playing games, keeping in touch
with friends and dates.
Impact:Students might fail their score when they keep using cellphones and lost their
focus on the lesson.
