Guidelines for Question Paper Setters ( R 2017 & R2020)

1. The pattern of the question paper for B.E / B.Tech. & M.E. Programmes is as follows:
Duration – 3 Hours, Maximum Marks – 100, the question paper has three parts (Part – A,
Part- B and Part – C). Questions shall be distributed equally amongst all the topics in the
syllabus.

2. Follow the pattern and the template of model question paper.


3. Bloom’s taxonomical verbs should be used, Part – A questions should test the candidate on
Remembering & Understanding level, Part – B questions should be based on Application &
Analysis level and Part – C question should test the candidates on Evaluation and Create
level.
4. Include all types of questions such as problems, open ended questions / problems, descriptive,
drawing of layouts, case studies, etc., For short questions – Objective type questions, Fill in
the blanks, True or False, etc., must be avoided.
5. Clearly state the policy on permission of data books, monographs, need for graph sheets, etc.,
in the question paper itself.
6. The difficulty level of questions may so be designed that obtaining 50% mark is not difficult
but obtaining more than 90% is very difficult.
7. Submit images and symbols in jpeg format and embed them in the question paper format.
8. Use MS Word 2003 or above for word processing of question papers in the template attached.
9. Hand written question papers shall not be used for examination, hence to be avoided.
10. Remuneration for question paper & answer Key setting shall be as follows,
- Rs.1000 /- per Question Paper for 3 Hours duration (UG / PG )
11. Specific care should be taken while allotting the distribution of the marks for each sub-
division and the marks should be clearly indicated.
12. In case of your relatives is appearing for the above examinations, you shall decline the offer of
Examiner ship immediately. If you decline the offer, kindly return all the materials enclosed
by return post.
13. Procedure for preparation and dispatch of Question Paper
a. Read all the guidelines before the commencement of question paper setting.
b. Kindly go through the following attachments carefully and set the question paper
prescribed in your appointment order.

v. Guidelines for QP setting
vi. QP Setting Claim form
vii. Check List
c. Download the template (question paper – see the semester) to your computer and
word process.
d. On completion, please protect the question paper with passwords.
e. Please make a note of the password separately for later use.
f. Fill the Checklist and Claim Form and also put your signature and scan it as a PDF
file.
g. Zip the Checklist, Claim Form and Question Paper, name the file as Course code
indicated in the appointment order.
h. Email the zipped file to coe@srit.org
i. Email the password to sritcoeoffice@gmail.com

14. The question paper setters are requested to keep their appointments strictly confidential.
15. The Remuneration for Question paper setting will be disbursed to your account as per the
details given in the claim form. Please provide the correct details for prompt credit of
remuneration to your account.
16. You are requested to ensure that the question are within the syllabus and have no missing
data, diagram, etc.,
