ACTIVITY: National Crime Prevention Week Celebration 2023


DATE: September 4-8, 2023
VENUE: Municipality of Taft Eastern Samar

REPORT SUMMARY
I. OBJECTIVES OF THE ACTIVITY:

1. To be able to address crime prevention and advance crime prevention at the local level.
2. Raise awareness among residents the importance of crime prevention in the maintenance of
peace and order in the locality
3. To enhance police and community relations.
II. HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITY:

The week long celebration of the National Crime Prevention Week started with a Kick Off ceremony last
September 4, 2023. The ceremony was conducted after the Flag Raising of the Local Government Unit.
This was participated by local government employees, national government employees, PNP and BFP men
and women stationed in the municipality. The ceremony started with a statement of Pledge of Support to
NCPW Celebration, Simultaneous conduct of Pito laban Sa Krimen. This was followed by Commitment of
Support by Hon. Gina A. Ty.

This local government unit in coordination with the PNP Municipal Office conducted other simple yet fitting
activities coinciding with this year’s celebration of NCPW, to wit:

1. Palugaw to school children in Elementary Schools of Brgy. Dacul, Polangi, Nato, San Luis and Bati-
awan. This activity will be conducted throughout the month of September.

2. Distribution of IEC Materials on Crime Prevention and Safety Tips initiated by the PNP Municipal
Office.

3. Conduct of Pulong pulong to raise awareness among women Laws on Violence Against Women and
Anti-trafficking.

4. Conduct of Symposium to High School Students of Brgy. San Luis.

III. OUTPUT/S OF THE ACTIVITY:


The following were achieved in the conduct of this activity:

1. Police Officers, Elected Officals of the LGU and other stakeholders were able to establish
camaraderie.
2. Raised awareness on the importance of Crime prevention in the maintenance of peace and order.
3. Raised awareness on laws on Violence Against Women and Children.
IV. RECOMMENDATIONS/RELEVANT APPLICATION IN DILG (if any):
The Local Government Unit, the PNP Municipal Office, BFP Municipal Office and other stakeholders should
be commended for initiating an activity like this.
