ETHICS

Sometimes we believe that what is wrong is good, and we frequently deceive ourselves into
believing that everything is alright when it's not. Being an adult is fantastic but also extremely
difficult. During this shift, we typically face a lot of pressure, rejection, and even begin to lose
friends. And as a result of these adversities, we experience weakness and depression, which
occasionally pushes us to act immorally. The people in our immediate surroundings also play a
role. They may have a positive or negative impact on us.

That was in my third year of college, and it marked the return of face-to-face after an extensive
COVID-19 pandemic. I am so excited to be with my classmates again. I decided to move in with
them at a boarding house close to our school. Now that we are in the same room, I was thrilled
to think that we might hang out and bond more frequently. Everything was fine until I noticed
their true colors.I did not particularly like the thought that they were alcoholics, even if they
were wonderful friends. There's liquor around every time we hang out, and I eventually started
to join them in drinking. Although I disliked the taste of alcohol, I became used to it due to their
influence. Honestly, I believe that it's okay to do so since I am of legal age and as long as I don't
allow myself to get drunk. However, I came to the realization that they weren't good for me. I
began to distance myself, but we were still ramained friends, I just simply stopped hanging out
with them. I didn't regret my choice, and in fact, I learned something from it: surround yourself
with good people who will bring you to the good.

Occasionally, the most valuable lesson we can learn from our past immoral behavior is to
become moral once more. Even if we are free people, we still need to exercise caution in what
we do, consider the consequences of our choices, and pay attention to our surroundings to see
if anything might negatively impact us or not. Since we are in charge of our own ship, we must
carefully select the course we will go and to always choose the morally just path.
