RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research Design

To reach the intention of this study the quantitative descriptive research approach the
survey method will be used. In addition, the researchers will utilize a questionnaire to gather
data from the respondents to determine the effect of maritime activities on Cebu-Mactan Ferry
Terminal. Finally, the researchers will use the quantitative research method in generating the
output of the study.

Research Environment

The research study will be conducted at Cebu-Mactan Ferry Terminal, Lapu-Lapu City,
Cebu. Cebu-Mactan Ferry Port, also known as Mactan/ Muelle Wharf is situated near Island
Central Mall across Marina Mall Mactan.

This ferry service at Cebu-Mactan Ferry Terminal is popular among tourists to get to
Cebu City without taking a bus or taxi. There are several vessels serving the port to Pier 3 (and
vice versa), which makes it easy for tourists and locals alike to comfortably get between the
islands. The route is serviced by two ferry companies: Topline Express and Metro Ferry, Inc.
The researchers chose the school as the locale of this study since the Ferry Terminal is near
UCLM school.

Research Respondents

The participants of the study are the terminal operators who worked in ferry terminal in
Cebu-Mactan. A total of 10 respondents will be used in gathering the data for the study. The
researchers will use a random sampling method to choose the participants. This method is a
sampling strategy in which each sample has an equal chance of being selected.

Research Instrument

A Survey Research Method will be used as an instrument in the research study to

gather data from the terminal operators in Cebu-Mactan Ferry Terminal. The research will be
conducted using printed survey questionnaire. Their scores will be tallied, and the mean of their
scores will be calculated

Research Procedure

This section presents the data gathering and statistical treatment of the study.

Data Gathering Procedure

The relevant data for the research study will be collected with the permission of (DAKO
DAKO SA PANTALAN) ,to allow the researchers to conduct a survey to those 30 . The
researchers will provide a printed questionnaire to the participants, where they must answer all
of the questions given to the respondents. The participants will be chosen using a sampling
method called random sampling to select the participants.
Statistical Treatment

This study is being conducted to determine the extent of effect of the maritime activities
on Cebu-Mactan Ferry Terminal. The study aims to know the result of maritime activities based
on the data collected from the chosen respondents. There searchers will utilize a descriptive
method. In addition, the researchers will use the quantitative research method in generating the
output of the study. After collecting the data needed, the researcher will tabulate and analyze
the gathered data with the help of the statistical tool.
