Car wheel project

How do you find the area of a circle? I need to use formula A=πr²

How do you find the circumference of a circle? I need to use formula C=2πr

What information do you need in order to find the area or circumference of a circle? I need to know diameter or
radius of a circle

To determine the number of full rotations your tires complete before you need to switch the front and back tires,
will you be working with area or circumference? I will work with circumference, as I will need to determine length
of part that touches road

Three different vehicles: 10 000 miles = 16 093 440 000 mm

Vehicle Radius Circumference Number of full rotations in 16 093 440 000 mm

Bicycle 280 mm 280*2*3.14=1 758.4 mm 16 093 440 000 / 1 758.4 = 9 152 320
Sedan 262 mm 262*2*3.14=1 645.36 mm 16 093 440 000 / 1 645.36 = 9 781 110
SUV 365 mm 365*2*3.14=2 292.2 mm 16 093 440 000 / 2 292.2 = 7 020 960

Data of distance traveled in a week: I use sedan

Day Distance Converted distance Daily number of rotations

Average daily number
Monday 14.2 km 14 200 000 mm 14 200 000 / 1 645.36 = 8 630.3 of rotations:
Tuesday 20 km 20 000 000 mm 20 000 000 / 1 645.36 = 12 155.4
Wednesday 0 km 0 mm 0 8 630.3 + 12 155.4 +
Thursday 0 km 0 mm 0 7 718.7 + 3 281.9 +
Friday 12.7 km 12 700 000 mm 12 700 000 / 1 645.36 = 7 718.7 4 862.1 = 36 621.4/7 =
Saturday 5.4 km 5 400 000 mm 5 400 000 / 1 645.36 = 3 281.9 5 231.7
Sunday 8 km 8 000 000 mm 8 000 000 / 1 645.36 = 4 862.1

Prediction: Due to data I can assume, that I`ll need to switch tires every 5 years. To determine it more accurate I`ll
calculate it

9 781 110 / 5 231.7 = 1 869.5 days 1 month = average 30 days

1 869.5 / 30 = 62 month 9.5 days = 5 years 2 month 9.5 days 1 year = 12 month

If tires’ circumference increased by 20%: It would result in a proportional decrease in the number of rotations made
by the tires for a given distance. This happens because the circumference of a tire represents the distance it covers
in one full rotation, so if it increases, the tire will cover more ground with each rotation.
