SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP


PARTICIPATION CONTRACT

1. PARTIES
This Contract has been concluded by and between student's name who will receive education and
consultancy (hereinafter referred to as "Student") and parent's name (hereinafter referred to as
"Parent") and Turkish Maarif Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "Maarif") in the following
terms and conditions.

2. SUBJECT AND SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT


2.1 This contract sets forth the rights and obligations of the parties regarding the provision of
cultural and tourism tours in Turkey, Turkish language training and consultancy on education
abroad to the Student by Maarif, and the procedures and principles that the parties are mutually
obliged to comply with regarding the performance of the services.
2.2 This contract shall be valid during the Summer Camp (27 August – 6 September 2023 ) in
which the student will participate.

3. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE STUDENT AND THE PARENT:


3.1 The student is obliged to abide by the rules expressed by the officials of Maarif during the
Camp.
3.2 The student will study at Istanbul Kartal Imam Hatip High School. They will stay in the triple
rooms in the dormitories of this university.
3.3 The Parent may not request the refund of the price paid for the education in case the student
quits the training for non-essential and arbitrary reasons, and may not abstain from paying the
portion they have undertaken to pay.
3.4 The cost of the student's healthcare services in Turkey is not included in the camp fee. Maarif
shall not assume any liability in this regard.
3.5 The Parent is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the student's information given
during registration. Furthermore, the Parent is obliged to notify the officials and instructors of
Maarif in case there is a special condition, including a health condition, that will affect the training
and supervision of the student.
3.6 This contract and the rights and obligations specified in the contract shall not be transferred to
third parties.

4. THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF THE ASSIGNED INSTRUCTOR


4.1 The instructors who will come with students from other countries and take part in the camp as
an employee may not take leave for personal reasons during the camp.
4.2 They are expected to ensure that the students attend classes and take part in social activities
during the camp program.
4.3 They will stay by the side of the students during excursions and keep the group together.
4.4 Accommodation, food and beverage, and city transportation costs of the assigned instructor will
be covered by the organization, Maarif shall not assume any liability for any other expenses.
4.5 Assigned instructor is obliged to hand over the fees collected for the program to the Camp
Director.

5. THE RIGHTS OF MAARIF:


5.1 Maarif shall not be held responsible for any failure to provide services due to events that are
beyond its control (force majeure) such as fire, earthquake, flood, unusual power line failure,
terrorist attacks, all measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic, decisions made by the state
administration, etc.
5.2 The Right to Change Instructor: Maarif reserves the right to change its instructors, group
leaders, and counselors.
5.3 Maarif shall not be responsible for the changes in the days and times of the activities and
excursion programs specified in the packages presented as an annex to the contract or the
cancellation thereof due to weather conditions and security reasons.
5.4 Maarif shall not be responsible for the failure to provide the contractual training and
consultancy services due to reasons arising from the will of the student and the parent.
5.5 Maarif may not be held responsible in case a visa cannot be obtained for the services to be
provided within the scope of abroad packages. Similarly, Maarif may not be held responsible for
any changes to be made by the consulate regarding visa applications.

6. THE OBLIGATIONS OF MAARIF:


6.1 Obligation to Provide Service: Maarif accepts, declares, and undertakes to provide all the
services specified in the packages presented as an annex to the contract.
6.2 Greeting-Send-off Obligation: Maarif shall provide greeting and send-off at the airport. Maarif
shall be responsible for the students starting from their check-in in Istanbul Airport to their
delivery to the family in Istanbul Airport at the end of the program.

7. TRAINING AND CONSULTANCY FEE AND PAYMENT METHOD


7.1 As stated in the program packages that are provided as an annex to the contract, the cost of this
training and consultancy is Euro 850.
7.2 The Student/Parent is obliged to pay Euro 250, which is the prepayment of this training and
consultancy fee, to the Country Representation of Maarif until 18.08.2023, and deliver the
remaining amount to the instructor in charge of the program in case the Student is granted a visa.
