Why
Pizza Is
Italian?
Pizza is considered Italian because it originated in Naples,
Italy, in the 18th century. The early version of pizza was a
simple flatbread topped with tomatoes, cheese, and other
ingredients that were readily available in the region. The dish
was known as "pizza" and quickly became popular among the
locals. Over time, the dish spread throughout Italy and
eventually became a staple of Italian cuisine. Pizza is an
essential part of Italian culture for several reasons.
pizza
Firstly, pizza is a symbol of Italy's rich culinary heritage
and is known worldwide as a quintessential Italian dish.
It's a dish that represents the country's history,
traditions, and cultural identity.
Secondly, pizza has played a significant role in the social
and cultural fabric of Italy. In many Italian cities, pizza
parlors are gathering places for friends and families to
enjoy a delicious meal together. It's a casual and
communal food that brings people together, and it's
often eaten on special occasions, such as birthdays and
holidays.
Italian pasta is known all over the world and
absolutely everyone loves it. On average, Italy
produces 3 million tons of pasta annually, and every

Italian consumes about 28 kg per year. It is an
integral part of culture, not just cuisine. So, the roots
of pasta, like pizza, are very deep.
Before becoming a world-famous dish, about 7000
years ago, people abandoned the nomadic lifestyle
and began to establish small settlements and
cultivate the land. A grain was discovered that could
be ground and mixed with water to knead the
dough. It was used to make tortillas, which were
cooked on hot stones – a prehistoric kind of
lasagna.
The word pasta, translated from ancient Greek,
means "flour mixed with sauce". As the name of the
dish, this word began to be used somewhere in the
early 14th century.
