Guidelines for the Search for


Labo’s MoDEL (Most Desirable Educational Leader)

Effective leadership is the core of every successful school. It emphasizes that effective leaders
collaborate, create a vision, and establish a balanced climate for every individual to reach their full
potential. An effective leader develops the skills and talents of everyone. Teachers and school heads, as
educational leaders, are models of professionalism and ethical and moral leadership. It includes the
development of pride in the nobility of the teaching profession.
The search for Labo’s MoDEL will inspire and motivate educational leaders to serve with all
honesty and integrity. It will encourage them to work for excellence in the discharge of their duties to help
the students acquire quality education in all aspects.
The period of the search will commence on October 23, 2023, and end on November 6, 2023.
The awarding of 2023 Labo’s MoDEL will be during the celebration of Labo’s Teachers Night. All
documents covering the school year 2022-2023 shall be used in this search.
All schools shall nominate one teacher candidate for the teacher’s category, and each aspiring
school head shall submit his or her portfolio directly to the chairperson of the search committee. A school-
based search for Labo’s MoDEL-Teachers Category can also be held prior to the district’s search.
Labo’s MoDEL will receive a plaque of commendation, a cash prize, and/or a token courtesy of
LGU Labo.
The following are the categories with a brief description of qualification:
