From the mountains to the sea......dare to dream

Before I start writing about different points of interest I would like to tell you a
little more about me and my company. My name is Maria, I am from Montene-
gro and I speak fluent English, Italian and Spanish. I am also at the moment
learning Russian.

I studied economics and obtained a Masters Degree in Italy and have lived both
in Italy and Spain. My love of travelling makes me appreciate what’s needed for
my guests to have the best experience possible when in a new country.

I began this company seven years ago with just two apartments. Now Dare to
Dream has a portfolio of over 90 apartments and 10 luxury villas. I have taken
great care and pride in choosing the correct employees, and coordinate our
fantastic staff to provide an excellent service to you, our guests.

1
What we do

Recently in 2022, I have opened Dare to Dream’s new exquisitely designed

office to provide a centralised point where guests can experience a “one stop
shop” for apartment keys, registration process, payments etc. We take care of
the details and provide you with relevant information in the luxury of our
office. Our friendly welcome and refreshments enable our guests to experi-
ence Montenegro hospitality from the word go.

The Dare to Dream office is open from 9am until 11pm each day and I or a
colleague are available to give directions and all information relating to
apartments and villas. If necessary, we can accompany guests to their apart-
ments. We are available 24/7 if any difficulties arise during our guests stay in
Montenegro and we welcome any feedback on how we can improve our
service to you, our guests.

Our office provides our guests with the ideal setting to discuss and explore
their needs and aspirations to provide the best possible stay in Montenegro.

Transfer from Airports

There are three Airports servicing Montenegro. Podgorica and

Tivat in Montenegro and Dubrovnik in Croatia. There are no direct
bus services connecting the Kotor bay area to these airports.
Tivat Airport is approximately 15 minutes from Kotor and we
organize a taxi. Perast and Orahavac taxi can also be organized.
Podgorica Airport is one and a half hours travel time to Kotor and
a taxi can be organized.
Dubrovnik airport, in Croatia, is approximately one and a half
hours to Kotor but also is subject to cross border checks. A taxi can be
arranged.
In each case the fee includes the driver waiting at the airport
arrivals and taking the guests to the Dare to Dream office for
registration, keys etc and onwards to their apartment or villa.

4
Car Rentals

Car rentals can be arranged with a local agency for car collection at airports or
at any convenient location. We recommend local agencies as their staff are
always on hand in case of an emergency.
Car Parking for Apartments in Kotor Old Town

Kotor Old Town is pedestrianised therefore cars are not allowed in. There are
four car parks adjacent to the historic old town walls and prices are from 75
cents to €1 per hour. We advise that guests should initially use one of these
convenient car parks for unloading luggage and settling in before parking in
one of the free public car park areas around the old town.

You need to know one thing -it will probably be difficult to find a free spot
immediately when you come to these parking places but if you have just a
little patience and wait until somebody goes out I am sure you will be able to
find a free spot.
People from Kotor park on these places all the time when they need to go
and buy something into town or have a coffee or for many other reasons so it

@Ranko Maraš happens that each 15 or 20 minutes somebody goes in or out of the parking
And then you may park your car safely.
Perast I will now write GPS coordinates of the nearest parkings around the Old Town
which are public, safe and free.

Beaches in Montenegro
The thing that help the most in hot summer days is definitely beaches! Montenegrin beaches are various: from pebbles and docks
in the Bay of Kotor, through sandy Budva and Bar beaches and long ocean-like wild beaches of Ulcinj Rivera. We worked on the list of the
best ones to make it easier for you! Each of them can be reached by car or boat.

Kotor has no long beaches but

Supermarkets

Kamelija is the closest shopping mall to the old town on the north
side and it contains a supermarket, pharmacy, cosmetics, clothes
shops, bank and many other shops that you would expect to find in a
modern mall including a gym and children’s supervised playground.
Food supermarkets are located just outside the old town, Voli on the
north side and IDEA just outside the south gate.
A shopping zone for larger malls, furniture and household stores,
ceramics, building materials is located 10 minutes by car from Kotor

SUPERMARKETS on the Budva road.

Open markets

Kotor’s traditional open market is located outside the city walls on the
waterfront and is open every day until 2pm with Saturday the main
market day with sellers from all parts of Montenegro displaying their
goods, advised to come early.
There is a small open market in Dobrota where fresh fish, meat, fruit
and vegetables are available every morning.

7
Specialised supermarket with premium food

Specialised supermarket with premium food

Definitely one of the best food and wine shops in Kotor is
CogiMar.

COGIMAR
The one thing I will tell you about this shop is that you should
definitely go there, see it for yourself and buy what you like.
It is incredible and you can find amazing ham, cheese, original
Italian and Montenegro products .
You can buy fish here and good wine.
You can also find the best prepared sushi.

8
FOOD

9
As you may already have heard, Montenegro is
famous for it’s ham and cheese from the village called Njegusi.
Unfortunately it is very difficult to find a really good, authentic Montenegrin Ham
but some of the restaurants have really good ham and cheese and some stores
also sell these products.
In Kotor during the summer we mostly see these products. There are also meat
specialities that are typical of Montenegro such as Njeguski steak, popeci,Njeguska
kobasica and many others.

10
RESTAURANTS

This is always a main question for everybody who comes to our

town and to be honest, for me too when I’m traveling.
If I don’t eat good food at the location which I visit, my whole
impression is disillusioned.
I don’t eat in the city center. Not because the food isn’t good,
you can find some good restaurants but I know better restau-
rants.
All the good restaurants are pretty booked all the time so it is
necessary to book them before showing up and we can do
that .You have our phone number so just call us and we will
make a reservation for you.
My favourite restaurants are usually about 15-30 minutes drive
in different directions and I will tell you about a few….

11
Konoba Timun - THE BEST OPTION FOR RESTAURANT IN KOTOR

1 A very good friend of mine has opened a restaurant this summer 2022 and the menu is just perfect
and the food is amazing and that is the only restaurant in Kotor which is near the apartments that I
recommend. This restaurant is located near the sea next to hotel Forza terra, very near our office.
You have everything from carpaccio ,fresh fish and meat up to different kinds of pastas.
The chef is very famous here in the Bay For his specialities And making typical Mediterranean dishes
that everybody wants to try. I definitely
recommend it -first of all because of the tasty food than the Konoba Timun
ambience and location and also because it is rarely that I eat in restaurants in the town.

“Đardin” restaurant is famous for its food preparation philosophy which relies on the tradition and local viands.

2 And that was precisely what they wanted - to prepare mouthwatering dishes that you cannot taste anywhere else
in the world. Treat yourself with their “Đardin” brudet that offers an unmatched mixture of sea flavors, or if you
are a true meat lover, try the Boka beef stew with homemade gnocchi. We also highly recommend fish, since
seafood tastes best when eaten by the shore - try fried fish, fish plate, or baked octopus. As a cherry on the cake,
don’t miss out on the chance to grab a bite of Perast cake and get swept away by the amazing almond flavor.
Enjoy your meal!
Restaurant "Đardin"

Marea

3 I have tried & enjoyed everything there and they also have really good Montenegrin ham, excellent olives and amazing focaccia as an appetiz-
er and then for the main course you can have tuna, octopus and other fish and meat. Everything is amazing so definitely don’t miss it. They
also have carpaccio which is so good and fresh and I do not eat carpaccio every- where because you know that fresh fish really needs to be
eaten only in trusted places.
12
4 Al Posto Giusto
The second good restaurant in Porto Montenegro is Al Posto Giusto and they also have excellent food.

Adriatiqua

5 This restaurant is about 30 minutes drive from Kotor and it has pretty much similar menu as Marea but it is on the beach so you can enjoy
swimming and their beautiful beach with white sand while waiting for the lunch. This restaurant also has amazing ham and carpaccio along
with amazing sweets and wine. If you order a salad plate you will get organic tomatoes and salad from the garden which is very tasty.

6
Catovica mlini.
The same owner and the same people working for many years there ,high level of service and incredible food and definitely the best ambient ever.

Ribarsko selo

7 There is a really good restaurant on the sea called Ribarsko selo and this restaurant is mostly reachable by boat so if you choose to go on a sailing
tour you should definitely visit this restaurant because food Will leave you speechless.
Not only food but the ambient and vegetables that you can see growing around the restaurant and touch is beautiful experience.

8
Porto acustic
This restaurant is very near the Old Town and offers good food and good prices so If you booked apartments in the Old Town or near and you don t
want to use your car it is an execelent option.
They have a beautiful terrace on with city and sea view so the experience is great.

13
Cattaro Hotel- Chef Nights

8 I would like to recommend this hotel as they often have special Chef Nights and this is one of the rare places where you may try interesting dishes
for a good price.
So if you are in Kotor and you are interested in this kind of tasting experience write me and I ll check if there are available spots and anything
organised during your stay.

Other than these I would really recommend restaurant

and Ribar
more Verige 65
Platanus Bar & Food
Konte.

If you Arrive late and you don’t have time to go to

these restaurants and you want to eat inside of the
old town then I would recommend
Scala Santa or Gallion restaurant.

Restaurant Porto acustic Restaurant "Đardin" 14

Pizza
pizza A very good pizza is Pizzeria Pronto and most people know about it. There is a little
bar near the sea which is called Wind Rose Café and this, in my opinion, has the
best pizza in town which the owner itself makes.

I have one more recommendation for the pizza which is so unique with goat cheese
and rukola and many other interesting ingredients and it is also not a touristic
place but a small bar in Perast. The pizza is incredible. The bar is called Bocca libre.

Amazing pizza also in Marea in Porto Montenegro.

If you want to eat something cheap but good you have Tanjga. Originally a butcher
grill shop a long time ago, until the owner transformed it into a fantastic eating point.
You can go there, choose the meat you want and they prepare it on the spot for you
for just a couple of euros.
They also have potatoes and salads and you can order and take away if you want.

Food delivery

delivery Since 2021 we have a new application Glovo which is used for ordering food in
Kotor and Montenegro, but we can also organize food delivery from a large
amount of restaurants without Glovo, and we would be pleased to do that for
you instead.

15
Pancakes and Coffee
Retobar Salca and Milky
If you want to eat a very tasty pancake you should definitely visit milky which is inside of the walls of the old town.
If you find them on Instagram or online you can see all the tastes they offer.
As well as amazing pancakes they have really good coffee with different flavours. I personally prefer vanilla.
Other than this market there is a small open market in Dobrota where people can buy fruits and vegetables and
even meat every morning,

Vegan food

COFFEE If you are a vegan and you want to eat some nice vegan food there is a new resto bar in the town very near the Old
Town town and it s name is Restobar Terasa.

Ice Cream
In my opinion the best ice cream into town is in the old town in a little hidden street and it is Marshall ice cream.
Marshall's Gelato
https://goo.gl/maps/rawz2gD5smaW6oTaA
You may buy ice cream in many spots in the old town but I personally like this one the most .

16
Cake

If you want to eat some cake in the old town I can tell you that people from here like the cake Moskva which you can try in the Old Town
in caffe bar Forza.
The same bar you can try a traditional cake from Kotor which is called Dobrotska cake.
The traditional seeet in Kotor is Kotorska krempita and the best one can be found in Piper supermarket early in the morning in Skaljari.
It is really delicious and it costs im the supermarket just one euro.
Other than this one they also have a good cakes.
There is a girl in Montenegro who makes incredible sweets but these can be only tried if you order them and she has an Instagram
account so if you want to try something really really really really good you would need to order it in advance and she can deliver it.
This is just a suggestion for people who really likes sweets and they stay longer in the town or they have some special celebration while
they’re here.

CAKES

Caffe bar Forza

17
Wine
In Montenegro you can find a wide range of wines, not only
from our country, but also from Croatia, Srbija Macedonia and
Bosnia.
In all the restaurants which I have talked about, you have
amazing wines . I have to tell you that my favourite wine is
not
Montenegrin. It is an amazing white wine and it is

WINE
Aleksandrija Triumf.
Other than this one I really like Zvonko Bogdan Wines and
Tamjanika Tikves classic white wine not special edition).
As you may see I love white dry wines.
Not an expert but I do love wine and gin:)
Famous Montenegrin wine is Plantaze Procorde (red) Char-
donay and Malvazija.

What I would suggest to do, is go to the supermarket and buy

all the wines there. They’re completely the same as in wine
shops through the town and you can find a wide choice of
amazing wines.

There are also a few vineyards worth seeing. Plantaze is the

most well known and the Savina Monastery is much more
intimate & hosts a fabulous array of local wine.
18
Night-life

People from here mostly go to three bars in the old town

and those are Karampana,The Square Pub and Letrika.

Tourist mostly like Letrika Because of the good music and a

good atmosphere in the bar.

If you prefer something elegant, violin or saxophone with a

DJ while having a good dinner then I recommend Marea in

Tivat.

In the last couple of years in Qatar you have many gigs

through the bars so definitely if you just have a walk to the

old town you will find what you like the most and you can

just stop there and enjoy.

Definitely the best disco for me is the open stage in Budva

called Top Hill and In Kotor you have a disco which is called

Maximus and it is inside of the walls of the old town.

Boat Tour

TOURS It really is just perfect on the sea! The best days are at sea!

This boat tour shows a completely different perspective of our beautiful town and country. There is nothing quite like exploring from the sea.

Even people from Montenegro, who live here for decades, after taking a boat tour are speechless about the experience they get and how different

everything seems from the boat. And when I say people I mean me:)

As i work a lot during the summer I get a chance maybe once or twice during a summer to go on a boat and every time I go I am speechless.

And..... I am really not exaggerating - I am really speechless as if I left Kotor and went to some other country.

So many hidden beaches, stone houses and little churches in the mountains that can t be seen from the land can be seen from the sea.

The tour is a unique experience and allows you to enjoy swimming in the middle of the bay surrounded by mountains while at the same time sightseeing

and visiting the highlights of the fiord .The tour is not made for you to sit on the boat from point A to point B and just run through the places that are on

your list as ‘must see’ but it is a day on the water with a local person who speaks english ,where you can take your food and drinks ,

enjoy the sun ,jump into the water whenever you want and stay at each spot as long as you like but in the

range of the hours predicted by the tour. On the boat you will have free wi fi so

you can post live your experience or share it online with your friends or family at the moment.

You may take drinks and food on the boat if you like.

There will be a fridge on the boat.

21
Boat Tour Itineraries

The tour begins from the spot we arrange with you. Mamula Island, originally a prison.
We visit the beautiful Perast islands Perast village, which in my opinion is the
most beautiful sea town in Boka Bay,
@Ranko Maraš

@Ranko Maraš

Perast village Mamula Island

Second world war submarine tunnels. Blue Lagune Cave. See incredible photos online. Swimming in the Blue
Lagune, surrounded by tall cliffs and open sea, is a life time experience.

22
You may decide to buy just a ticket on the boat or you may rent the whole boat and your friends.
However, it is important for you to know that these boat tours are small and very private so other than you on the boat it
could be up to 9 persons not more so even if you just take a ticket it is very private and relaxing because it is not like 50
people around you.
I really recommend this activity while you are in Kotor and I can tell you That every person who went came back happy:)

The only thing we need from you is to tell us a little bit in advance just
couple of days in advance the time and day.
The tour is organized every day at 9 in the morning ,12.15 and 15.30

Fishing tour

Fishing tour is a perfect choice for people who like to get up early in
the morning and enjoy the sun rise while catching the fish which later they can prepare for themselves.
There is a man from Kotor who is fishing all his life he even looks like Robinson Crusoe and he has his boats and he does only fishing tours.
He knows the places where you can catch the fish and he has everything what is necessary for fishing the only thing you need to do is to decide to enjoy the day
on the sea early morning from 5 AM enjoying him on your fishing adventure.

25
Amazon Tour (Skadar lake and River Crnojevic)

This is one of the tours I like to recommend to my guests when they have a few days more in our town and they have time to go and see other towns in places in
Montenegro .You should definitely visit the spot Which is called Pavlova strana.
It is one of the most amazing sites in Montenegro and very photogenic So make sure your camera is on and you have your Wi-Fi to upload Instagram photos:)
You need about one hour to reach rijeka Crnojevic. It is a beautiful place and from over there you can take this Amazon tour and see the whole area and the whole
lake. Usually the tour starts under the Old bridge and you will pass little villages in Rijeka Crnojevica which are Ulov, Lipovnik, Klobucnik, Grab, Rudina, Ploce and
Karuc. All of this places have small beaches so if you want to have a swim in the lake you are welcomed to jump into the water and we will wait for you.
The nature in the lake is more than amazing.
During summer, floating wetland species, white and yellow water lilies and water caltrop (kasaronja), cover large areas of water, giving the lake a recognizable
feature. Extending from them, one can find a wide and dense population of reeds and sedges.

We can organize the store for you and if you do not have a car then we can organize the whole day. Car can pick you up in front of your
apartment and take you directly to the point where you will start the Amazon tour and then bring you back to Kotor.
The price of this toward depends of month If your visit and if you are interested we will give you additional information in person.
Lake Skadar is one of the largest bird reserves in Europe, having 270 bird species, among which are some of the last pelicans in Europe(possible to see in spring
or late autumn)and thus popular with birders. The lake also contains habitats of seagulls and herons.
There are many species of fish, especially carp, bleak and eel. Of the 34 native fish species, 7 are endemic to Lake Skadar.

The driver of the boat is welcoming and really friendly and never tired of talking about our beautiful river Crnojevic
and Skadar lake. He is a local person who lives on the River all year so he is happy to share our history and other
information with you.
This tour is locally known as Amazon tour and once you try it you will understand why.

Other things to note

The experience time is up to guests.
26
Any time from 8 am to 7 pm is ok.
Tour of Old Town Kotor with Tamara

To get yourself familiar with Kotor, I highly suggest having a tour of Old Town Kotor with Tamara. Tamara is a professional tour guide and people really
enjoy the 2 hour walking tour with her! She is full of knowledge not only about the country, but specifically about the Boka Bay area. You can learn so
much history about the town of Kotor and all the palaces and museums inside the old city walls. She knows everyone in the town and has great
suggestions of the best restaurants, and of course her favourite cafes to sit, relax and enjoy a coffee while watching the daily life of Kotor go by.
If you have the time, don’t miss having a walking tour.
She never looks at her watch and sometimes the two hours just become three or four for the same price because she really enjoys her job.
A one hour tour is €40 for the group and two hour tour tour €65. You can be 2 people or ten - the price is the same.

Black Lake - Tara bridge - Salt Lake tour

This is a very interesting tour which starts in Kotor and you take a road through Risan and your first stop is
above the bay where you have a spectacular panoramic view on the bay and Perast.
After this stop you continue your drive and you will come above salty lake near Niksic.

It is very interesting to see and after you make photos you can continue to words black lake which is really
spectacular. After you see the black Lake and have a lunch at the mountain and try their specialties which
are different from the ones you will try here in the bay you can also go and see the famous Tara bridge
which is around 30 minutes drive from the lake.
This should be a full day tour from early morning up to late-night hours.

It is definitely worth doing.

27
Car tour -Montenegro Tour

This one is one of my favorite tours because in one day you can see a lot and it is not
exhausting at all.
I always recommend it to all my guests because in one day you can see one of the
most beautiful places in Montenegro and then you can use the rest of your stay just
to chill out drink wine eat food and enjoy the sea.
It is call Montenegro tour because you do a full circle of top sightseeing places.
We depart from Kotor and continue driving up dealed serpentine Road which has 29
curves and higher we go to view gets better and better.
If you can’t be explained by words it is simply breathtaking ,incredible ,out of this
world.
And no I am not exaggerating the view is really stunning.
I think it is the best thing you can see while you’re here.
The old serpentine Road takes you then to the mausoleum and Lovcen national park.
Again the view is amazing from this point and you can climb the second highest top
in Montenegro wear one of our famous ruler is buried at the top of the mountain in
his own mausoleum.

@Ranko Maraš 28
Car tour -Montenegro Tour continuation

On the good weather from this point you can see the coast of Italy.
Lovcen Has a special place in Montenegro in history and it is an important
symbol of Montenegrin nationality.
After mausoleum we take you to Cetinje, the ex capital of Montenegro,
The heart of Montenegrin people Montenegrin history Montenegrin pride.
It’s a very simple town not more than at all and not svilupated as other towns in
Montenegro, But full of Montenegro history and culture.
Here you can visit castle a family Petrovic Which is in the same state as it was
decades ago.

There are also many other monuments that you can visit in Cetinje.
Also here you can go to a restaurant or a bar and eat a lot and good poor little
money.
We can suggest restaurants that you can visit during the tour.
After Cetinje We are taking the panoramic road to Budva and we stop above San
Stefan Island so you can make photos and enjoy the view.
After the island there is a short visit to the old town of Budva where you have
around 30 minutes to visit this Mediterranean city.
As you may see during the store you can visit many places but the drive between
two places is not longer than 30 minutes so mostly all the hours you spent
during the tour are used for sightseeing and enjoyment.
Last year we made our own video of this tour so here is the link so you may see
what to expect.

GODINJE VILLAGE SKADAR LAKE
Garnet winery
Everything changes, but the part of our country we want to share with you remains the same for centuries. It is a village Godinje. Almost without people during the most of the
year, but in summer time you can feel the smell of seasonal fruit and see the old fashioned way of making wine and rakija. You will taste the real rural part of our Balkan soul with
home-made delicatessen.
We will introduce you to wine (red from the native Montenegrin vine cultivar Vranac, rose’ from the Vranac and white made of Chardonnay) and fruit Liqueurs (walnut, lemon)
made out of love and knowledge by one of the rare young residents of Godinje-Miško Leković. This tour includes one hour long guided walk through Godinje with Miško Leković,
wine tasting with local food (three kind of milk local cheese, smoked hum, olives, fruit, brad…) and occasionally (pre ordered only) fresh home-made menu.

VIRPAZAR
Kopitovic winery
A story of good wines starts with memories. Remembering the old times and the way how his ancestors used to make wine, Mr Žarko Kopitović is creating his own story. He has
three daughters and a wife on his side, and a lot of history to tell you about his remarkable wines with recognizable signature of Montenegrin terroir. You will taste three most
popular wines from this producer with basic national cuisine plate (smoked ham, cheese, olives) but if you are real hedonist you can also also ask for very rare and unique wine
vranac limited edition Poskok and Kraljevski pečat.

ROGAMI
Radevic winery
If you seek for some natural luxury, we highly recommend you to try wines and foods from the central region of Montenegro, and visit the winery Radevic near the capital
city. Those wines are made from grapes grown on naturally cleaned soil, without pesticides and herbicides. Wines are made by a great technologist Ivan Dašić, and foods you
will eat while tasting are made by the best Montenegrin small food producers. Owner, doctor Goran Radević has huge professional and life experience working as a doctor in
China, South Africa, Caymanislands and his life story is as breathtaking as his wines. On this tour you will taste six wines: dry Chardonnay, semi sweet Chardonnay, Cabernet
sauvignon, Syrah, Vranac and Reneé (premium liqueur semi sweet white wine) with a national plate (cheese, olives, smoked ham, sausages all made by local producers).
