COURSE GUIDE

I. COURSE CODE/TITLE: PSYCH 105R / Physiological/Biological Psychology

II. COURSE OVERVIEW:
A. Course Description
The physiological approach to studying human behaviour. Basic concepts and findings in
neuroscience with special emphasis on brain-body relationship, brain-behaviour relationship, and
mind-behaviour relationship are treated in the course.

B. Course Learning Outcome(s)

1. Understand basic mechanisms of the human body
2. Create models of neurons and other related systems.
3. Appreciate the application of psychology on human biology/physiology
4. Evaluate on the impact of psychology to the human body.

III. COURSE STUDY GUIDE:

This section aims to assist you in our succeeding classes. A very important suggestion is to (1)
manage your time well. We will have lectures, individual tasks, and group activities, which will mostly
depend on your ability to organize because of our limited opportunities. Second is to (2) focus your
attention. A lot of things that we’ll do will be online and I want to ask you to maintain your consistency in
complying and accomplishing goals that I have set for you. Third is to (3) give your best. This may not be
the optimal time for anything but it doesn’t mean that you are powerless to the situation. You certainly have
the choice to work hard!
Fourth (4) advice I want to tell you is to submit the activities on time. I will still accept late
works but bear in mind that I will subtract points on it in order to be fair with other learners. Next suggestion
is that I want you to (5) answer confidently during our online lectures. I am not expecting right or wrong
answers because we are in an educational setting and the primary goal is to learn. Another is to (6) work
independently. This refers to my expectation of you to depend on yourself in accomplishing some tasks.
Some, in a sense because I, as your professor is present to aid you on your concerns. You will also have
the chance to brainstorm with your classmates. Seventh suggestion is that I need you to (7) motivate
yourself. Our time is tough now; you don’t get to personally meet your classmates nor you instructors. It
means that it is more important than ever to find the reason to continue with your studies. Last is, I want to
remind you that you can (8) contact me. I am always available for consultations and even minute
concerns. This is my email address: jeremiahedwardbohol@gmail.com.
