Course Overview:
Practicum 2 course allows undergraduate students obtain direct experiences in the
field of psychology, providing services in the real-life setting in industrial organizational field. As
future practitioners of psychology, the course is designed relevant to the needs of the helping
profession. These exposures will allow the students to get equipped with the appropriate
learning and training to prepare in the field of psychology. The course also provides opportunity
for students to get into a job after graduation or it can be a meaningful educational opportunity
that helps them explore their preferred area of practice.

Course Objectives:
The objectives set by the department for this Internship Program are the following:
1. Offer appropriate settings and other learning activities for ensuring interns direct contact with
clients, administrative structure and professionals in the field.
2. Ensure the interns with practical experience in settings suitable to their course area in Practicum
2 – Human Resource Internship Program under the supervision of Human Resource Manager.
3. Provide opportunities for interns to enhance, refine, and widen specific skills and competencies
necessary in the delivery of Human Resource in the following areas:
a. Recruitment and Selection
b. Training and Development
c. Performance Management
d. Employee Relations
e. Employment Law and Compliance
f. Compensation and Benefits
g. Administration, Payroll & HR Systems
h. Other relevant/appropriate services in your Human Resources Department
4. Promote and inspire professional development.
5. Create an awareness and practice of professional ethics and values in the delivery of Human
Resource Services.

Internship Requirements:
INTERNSHIP SITE
1. Completion of 150 duty hours in HR setting
2. Daily Time Record
3. Daily journal submitted weekly with documentation
4. Submission of Intern’s Job Description approved by Site Supervisor after 50 hours of
duty
5. 5 company-based seminars: 2 seminars organized and 3 seminars facilitated
a. Topic of company's choice
b. Submission of COMPLETE Documentation of Seminars organized and
facilitated
6. Performance evaluation (Midterm and Final Term)

OTHERS
7. Attendance to 5 seminars
a. Topics: Work Ethics, Human Resource trends, and other current issues in I/O
Psych
b. Submission of COMPLETE Documentation of Seminars attended (certificate of
participation, notes, insight paper and photos)
8. Attendance to Practicum Meetings
9. Participation to Internship Formation Program

COMMUNITY
10. Community Needs Assessment
11. Program Implementation and Evaluation
12. Group Evaluation

Intern’s Suggested Schedule:

Monday & Thursday 8AM - 12NN --- 8hrs per week


Tuesday & Friday 2PM - 5PM --- 6 hrs per week
Wednesday - Saturday 1PM - 5PM --- 8 hours per week

Internship Guidelines:

1. Student Interns are required to submit the following: Name of Company, Name of Human
Resource Manager/personnel in charge of internship and 3 representatives for MOA
2. Tardiness and Absenteeism are highly discouraged. 10 minutes late to the assigned report
to work hour = 1 hour extension; One day absence = 8 hours extension;
3. Only Psych department DTR will be acknowledged; to be submitted every Friday;
4. Observance of Prescribed Internship uniform and overall appearance (remember, how
you carry yourself physically and attitudinally is who you are before others). Failure to
comply shall be noted by your supervisor in the journal and appropriate sanction shall be
given accordingly:
a. For women
i. Uniform well pressed with psych pin and CDU ID
ii. Polished black shoes with at least 1 inch heel
iii. Well-groomed hair; if long, clipped well
iv. Powdered face (to avoid oily face); lipstick
b. For men

▪ Midterm: after at least 50 hours of duty or on or before March 13 – 18,

▪ Final: after 150 hours or on before May 14 – 20, 2023
All internship submission must be placed in a GREEN EXPANDED ENVELOPE with intern’s name.
Final Submission must be collated into one internship book by the end of the semester.
