Amado: (voice over)

My Tinang, It’s been years since I had the last glimpse of my angel, I can still remember your wonderful eyes and your
cute little smiles. The sound of your voice whispering through my ears. It’s been two years and still, I miss you. My mind
won’t stop thinking about you every single day. I always wonder if you’re okay.

LOVE IN THE CORNHUSK

SENARIO 1

Senorita: Tinang? Tinang?

Tinang: Good morning senora, here’s your requested coffee
Senorita: Ah, Tinang can you also prepare Tito’s food? He might get up soon, kasi, eh.
Tapos. After that, you can join us for breakfast naman.
Tinang: Sure Senora

Senora: Thankyou Tinang 😊

(Meanwhile)

Tinang: Ano bayan! Whatch where you’re going

Amado: Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be careless. I apologize.
Senora: Oh Amado, why are you here?
(Nag talk sila (senora & Amado))
Senora: Okay, I’ll just give the budget to Mang Lando for the fuel stock.
Amado: Okay, Senora. I will go now thank you.

SCENARIO 2
( Tinang is sweeping outside the house )
Amado: Constantina!
Tinang: What are you doing here? Aren’t you working at the farm?
Amado: Uhm… can I ask if you are free tomorrow? For the hacienda workers gathering?
Tinang: No. Senora might need my help anytime. I’m busy!
Amado: I think she might not need your help. I already ask for senoras permission and she
said that you can go out and socialize with us. Come on! Come on Constantina!
Tinang: Do not call me by my real name! Just call me Tinang! And can you please go now.
I’m busy working here!
Amado: Okay! See you at the gathering then…..Tinang!

SCENARIO 3
(Another place) (something like field)
Tinang: How long have you been working here? I’ve heard you are the best tractor in the
hacienda.
Amado: Where’d you got that information? Actually, I have been working here ever since I
was seventeen. Almost four years now!
Tinang: Aren’t you studying?
Amado: As of now, no. But I’m planning to study in the city nights. School, and take up
mechanical engineering someday.
Tinang: Really? That’s great!
Amado: Don’t worry Tinang. If I become a mechanical engineer, then you will never need to
work. I will treat you as my queen.
Tinang; If and only if Amado. Come now, the sun is getting low. I need to get back at
senora.
Amado: Did you just dodge my confession?
(Smiles)
Tinang: Did I? I think I even called you ‘Engineer Galauran’.
Amado: Wow! That is pleasing to hear, Mrs. Galauran.

SCENARIO 4
(Another place)
Tinang: Josefina!
Josefina: Oh! Tinang.
Tinang: Have you seen Amado? He didn’t come in our place earlier.
Josefina: Ahm…no. I haven’t seen him yet but I heard something that he’s talking to
Senora about leaving for like two days? But I didn’t hear any reason for that.
Tinang: Oh
Josefina: Why?
Tinang: He didn’t tell me anything
Josefina: Oh Tinang, don’t be sad. He will comeback!
Tinang: I hope so.

SCENARIO 5
(Tinang blah blah blah basta)
Tinang: Hey! Are you following me?
Bagobo: No. Uhm…I’m not. I was just passing by and caught up with the view.
Tinang: Uhm..really? What’s the view in here?
Bagobo: Ahm…honestly I’ve been watching you.
Tinang: Excuse me? (rolls her eyes)
Bagobo: Ah, I’m sorry. I apologize for my behavior. I’ll go now.
Tinang: Hey! Ahm I’m sorry for being rude.
Bagobo: It’s okay. Ahm can I sit beside you?
(Tinang nod)
Bagobo: Ahm…I was just passing by to deliver crops from the mountain and I didn’t mean
no harm.
Tinang: Ah I’m sorry for being rude… Let me make it up to you, if its ok with you, I can
show you the field.
Bagobo: (nod) okay.
(Tinang show him the field)
SCENARIO 6
(at senorita’s house) (Tinang knock at the door)
Tito: Ma, its Tinang! Ma, Tinang is here
Tinang: Aba you’re so tall now Tito
Tito: Puberty hits Tinang
Senora: Oh Tinang, let me see your baby? Is it a boy? (Going down to the stairs)
Tito: Yes ma, and the ears are huge. (While entering the house)
Senora: What do you expect hijo? The father is a Bagobo even Tinang looks like a Bagobo
now. Have a sit Tinang. (Few seconds) Ano Tinang? Is it not a good thing to be married?
Tinang: It is hard, Senora, very hard. Better that I were working here again.
Senora: There! Didn’t I tell you what would it be like uh?...... That you would be a slave to
your husband and that you work a baby eternally strapped to you. Hmmm…..are you not
pregnant again?
Tinang: Uhm..It’s kind of embarrassing to admit but yes Senora, I am pregnant now.
Senora: Hala! You will have a dozen before long.
Tinang: Btw Senora, how is senor?
Senora: Ay! He is always losing his temper over the tractor drivers. It is not the way it was
when Amado was here. You remember what a good driver he was. The tractors were always
kept in working condition. But now…I wonder why he left all of a sudden. He said he would
be gone for only two days….
Tinang: I don’t know too and I don’t want to know anymore.
Senora: I think you bagobito is hungry…Ate…Ate.
Maid: Yes Senora!
Senora: Can you make milk for the baby?
Tinang: No, no don’t bother, let me take care of this.
Maid: No, it’s fine, how about you come with me here in the kitchen? Will that be, ok?
Tinang: Yes, of course. (Few seconds) You know what I can see my self a few years before I
used to work here for Senora, when I was younger.
Maid: I can see that it was a good experience huh. Here’s the milk for the baby
Tinang: Indeed, btw thank you for this.
Senora: Tinang....Tinang……
Tinang: Yes Senora, coming.
Senora: I will give you some dresses and an old blanket that you can cut into things for the
baby. Take it!
Tinang: Thank you Senora! Btw my reason for visiting here is because my bagobito’s
baptism is about to come. Will you come as his madrina?
Senora: Sure! I will also provide for the baptismal clothes and priest fee. I would be glad to
be the ninang of this bagobito.
Tinang: Really? Thank you so much Senora! Uhm…I think its time to go now.
Senora: When are you coming again Tinang?
Tinang: I still don’t know Senora.
Senora: Don’t forget the bundle of clothes and….oh Tinang, you better stop by the
drugstore. They asked me once whether you were still with us. You have a letter there and I
was going to open it to see if there was a bad news but I thought you would be coming.
Tinang: A letter? Ok thank you Senora.
Senora: Nice meeting you again Tinang.
Tinang: Bye Senora

SCENARIO 8
(Nag hanap ng place where she can put her baby)
Amado(Voice over)
My dearest Tinay,
Hello, how is life getting along? Are you still in good condition? As for
myself, the same as usual. But you’re far from my side. It is not easy to be far from our
lover. Tinay, do you still love me? I hope your kind and generous heart will never fade.
Someday or somehow I’ll be there again to fulfill our promise.
Many weeks and months have elapsed. Still I remember our bygone days.
Especially when I was suffering with the heat of the tractor under the heat of the sun. I was
always in despair until I imagine your personal appearance coming forward bearing the
sweetest smile that enabled me to view the distant horizon.
Tinay, I could not return because I found that my mother was very ill. That is why
I was not able to take you as a partner of life. Please respond to my missive at once so that
I know whether you still love me or not. I hope you did not love anybody except myself.
I think I am going beyond the limit of your leisure hours, so I close with best wishes to you,
my friends Gonding,Sefarin, Bondio, etc.
Yours forever,
Amado
P.S. My mother died last month.

Amado: Yes, two long years. I’m sorry I’m really sorry for my disappearance, Tinang. I really
want to make it up to you. (wanted to touch Tinang) Oh I see, you’re still mad at me.
Tinang: No, I’m not. It’s just. (The baby cries)
Amado: Whose baby are you holding?
