OBSERVATION PRACTICE

ESCUELA NORMAL DE
ATIZAPAN DE ZARAGOZA
ACERCAMIENTO A
PRACTICAS EDUCATIVAS Y
COMUNITARIAS
MANUEL ALEXANDER
ZAMBRANO MENDEZ
1°2
The objective of this practice was to obtain and known the context of different
students in a rural and urban area.
The places I compared are Tlazala and Teoloyucan, Tlazala is the rural area and
teoloyucan is the urban area.
So, to begin with tlazala, when I was on my way to, I saw that in the area that
there were animals various animals like chickens.
On the way there were fields of crops and I saw that the hill was close, when I
finally arrived, the people were staring at our group, but it was because
everyone in the group was dressed formally, my group and I went near to a
school to make some surveys to the people in the area and know what they
think about some education stuff.

We approached to people that was in the area. We introduce ourselves with

them with our names, and told them that we are teachers in training from the
school Normal de Atizapan de Zaragoza, and we ask them if we could ask some
question that it won´t take too much of their time, every person we interviewed
agreed, everyone seem so nice while we were talking to them, they spoke to us
very politely and never disrespected us, every person we interview has different
perspectives, but they also have some things in common.
So, the first thing we discovered is that every person we make the questions
agreed that is very important to have an university degree, cause it can give
benefits in your life, it can expand your knowledge and learn much more and
this can give you more opportunities to get a good a job and economy in the
future.
Then with the next question, the people had different ideas some positive and
some negatives, some people told us that there are no limitations to move from
tlazala to another place that is far because there is more transport to move,
Other people told us the otherwise, there are some limitations to move from a
place to other from tlazala, and after we analyzed this we got to the conclusion
that it depends from the family, some families have more difficulties and other
don´t have that problem.
The next question was about the area, that it has all the resources and what
caught my attention is that everyone told us that yes, the area has all the
resources like water, gas, light and even free wifi. But only one person told us
that in the area he lives there is only light, and water, and it´s because the place
is further away.
In the next question there was also different ideas and opinions, it was that the
area has enough economic resources for study and many people told us that of
course there is enough, and other people told us that there isn´t enough money
for study.
The next one was a reserved for parents with kids in the school, it is about if the
school provides with financial assistance to the students, and they told us
clearly yes, that there is financial assistance for the students and it´s provided by
the government
Next one was about what people think about working while studying, and they
some people told that is good only if the student has to do it to pay the things
he needs for school, other told us that it´s not necessary, and finally a few said
that is necessary so the student can prepare and gain some experience with a
work for the future.
Also the people told us that in the community there are not too much bullying
and harassment, but one person told us the opposite, from the experience of
this person he told us that he got discriminated by the mayor, and he had no
consideration for him despite having a disability.
We asked if the people think that the family attitudes can affect psychologically
the student?
And everyone said yes, and told us positive and negative perspectives and of
course influences in the school environment.
We understand that the religion that predominates in the area is Catholic one,
And this one doesn´t have any effect in the school.
The next thing we ask is if it is important to learn a foreign language, specifically
English, most people agreed that is important but not completely necessary, this
is because in the area it´s not necessary to know another language, but other
people told us that is important because that gives you a lot of opportunities.
so in the end we thanked each person for giving us a little of their time to
answer our questions and for giving us their opinion and they all kindly said
goodbye.

In the urban area it was a completely different experience, not all the people
were so polite, they answers were very short and despite being polite with them
they didn´t seem to care, maybe it´s because the area was not very secure, the
people told me that the streets are not safe at all, and that may be a reason
they weren´t very talkative, In the area there are not many trees or plants,
There were too many schools and much more people.

Every person I asked agreed that is was necessary to have a university degree,
the area had all the resources.
The community didn´t have any problem to move from a school far from the
area.
The community had financial resources to study and it was rare that a family
didn´t have enough for study
The schools of course had financial assistance and it was also provided by the
government
All the people thought that working while studying was only necessary if the
student had to only by necessity.
The told me that the catholic religion is the one accepted in the community, and
I could confirm that, while I was exploring the place I saw several churches, and
this one doesn´t affect the education of the students-
They clearly think that family opinions affect the student in the school.
And finally everyone think that learn English is very important, because that’s
what your future will depend on, and they said it was necessary, the students
here have English classes that can´t be skipped.
I kindly said goodbye to every person and thanked for their time they gave me,
and that’s everything I get to know by the people of Tlazala and Teoloyucan,
and could look some clearly differences from a rural and a urban zone
