Lesson Plan – April 17th, 2015

Target words:
room, bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, garage, garden.
(for K1&K2 ony) cooking, sleeping, gardening, parking the car, watching TV, eating, taking
shower.
All:
Introduction:
I'll remind children what they learned in the previous lessons about animal's shelters.
N2:
Activity 1:
I'll will draw a large house on the board, and divide it into rooms. Draw in different rooms
like bed room and kitchen and introduce the students to the correct vocabulary while doing
it. Also present flashcards of those rooms when the word is introduced.
Activity 2:
I'll split the class in two teams and hand out a flyswatter to each team. Teams stand in line
and the first in line holds the flyswatter. When I say a word, for example “kitchen”, the
children who hold the flyswatter must run toward the board and hit the kitchen picture with
the tool. A point to the faster child, and reward the team with higher score.
Activity 3:
We play the game “Where is Sam”. I'll use a magnet with a stick figure named Sam on it.
I'll move the magnet around to different rooms of the house and say “Where is Sam?”
Students answer with “Sam is in the ____”
Conclusion: review what we learned.

K1 and K2:

Activity 1:

For example: “what do you do in the bedroom?”
Elicit the answer :“I sleep”
And so on for each room.

We play the game “Where is Sam”. I'll use a magnet with a stick figure named Sam on it.
I'll move the magnet around to different rooms of the house and say “What is Sam doing?”
Students answer with “Sam is ____ (cooking, sleeping, etc etc)”
Conclusion: review what we learned
