Advantages of Driving Sustainable Transportation

Main Point 3: Conservation of natural resources

Next, another advantage of driving sustainable transportation is the

conservation of natural resources. As the current transport modes
require a large number of natural resources to run vehicles, natural
resources gradually decrease. Fortunately, sustainable
transportation, such as hybrid cars, has two powered engines, which
are gasoline and an electric motor. Therefore, they can reduce fuel
consumption and conserve energy (Abdel Wahed Ahmed & Abd El
Monem, 2020). Rajshekhar Basavapattan (2021) stated that the
cause of the scarcity of natural resources was over consumption of
natural resources, which would lead to the depletion of minerals.
According to Agaton et al. (2020), in developing countries,
governments encourage shifting to non-motorised vehicles, biofuel
blending for transportation and industrial uses, and adaptation of
electric vehicles that suit the local settings, such as electric scooters
in India and electric “tuk-tuks” in Thailand, to significantly lessen
dependence on fossil fuels. Altogether, sustainable transportation
contributes to the preservation of biodiversity and ecological balance
by saving natural resources.

CONCLUSION
In summation, driving sustainable transportation is a crucial step
towards achieving economic growth and job creation, enhancing air
quality, protecting natural resources, as well as encouraging a
healthier lifestyle. Avoiding natural calamities and maintaining
human health may be less harmful to the environment if sustainable
transportation is emphasized by people all over the world. Through
conducting awareness campaigns, the public can be guided to
increase knowledge and education by implementing green habits
about the importance of sustainable transportation.
