Highschool

In this day and age, The interaction between the human and the
environment is a complex phenomenon. As the number of people in the world
continues to rise, The amount of garbage that needs to be disposed of is also
increasing. More laws are being implemented to reduce waste. The Law of
Republic Act 9003 declares the policy of the state in adopting a systematic and
the Ecological Solid Waste Management Program to ensure the protection of the
environment and the proper segregation of waste through the formulation and
adoption of environmental practices.
On April 28, 2023, the school of Balaytigue National Highschool had a
meeting with the students to introduce the project (LIMOT) or Localize
Implementation of Management of Trash. According to Mrs. Melody Lascano, The
municipal ordinance had a seminar regarding waste reduction and eliminate of
plastic waste. One of the challenges of Balaytigue National Highschool is the
disposal of garbage. The project of Localize Implementation of Management of
Trash aims to demonstrate to everyone that being responsible and simply
disposing of garbage will have a huge impact on the school. The flow of the
project Localize Implementation of Management of Trash was smooth but as the
time went by it seemed to have disappeared in the minds of the students. This
research intended to restore the project of localize implementation of
management of trash. The disposal of proper waste has a vital role in the school
of Balaytigue National Highschool. As a matter of fact, It will help reduce the
amount of solid waste that can be recycled or better known as 3rs. Reuse, Reduce,
Recycle. In accordance with the law of ecological solid waste management act
2000, provided the required policy framework, Institutional mechanisms and
mandate to the local government units to achieve 25% waste reduction target
through establishing an integrated solid waste management plan based on 3rs
(Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). On the other hand, this project is only worth paying
attention with the help of the teachers and students of Balaytigue National
Highschool. The researchers encourage everyone to work for the well being and
cleanliness of our beloved school. On top of that, Human activities contribute
significantly in waste management. Recognizing the effects of improper
management can be prevented by practicing waste characterization and
segregation at source, proper collection, recycling, and composting as mandated
by the law.
In a nutshell, The purpose of this project is to give awareness to
students regarding the proper solid waste management. Let’s help one another
for the better future of the students of Balaytigue National Highschool.
