Description of Competency
This course, “Wireless Communication Equipment Repair,” is designed for students with little or no
experience in troubleshooting various wireless deployments such as conventional radio systems,
trunked radio systems, microwave systems, and mobile telephone systems. Topics covered
include: Gathering information regarding the problem, performing checks, diagnosing, repairs,
checking the repairs, and writing a report. Students will be exposed to actual repairs during which
they will be tasked with following appropriate technical documentation, flow charts, configuration
software, and using tools and test equipment to affect the repair

Online-Learning Framework
This competency consists of 12 hours online, broken down in 6 hours’ sessions, with your
teacher and classmates using the Google Suite Platform and 18 hours hands-on in the Centre,
broken down in 1.5 hours’ sessions. Each online session will consist of 2 hours of
lecture/presentation time of a specific learning objective, 2 hours on quizzes, etc., and 2 hours
to allow students to complete and submit assignments. Your teacher will provide feedback on
assignments. Students must attend all real-time hours and submit all assignments in order to
be eligible for the review and final exam.

NOTE 1: The number of hours scheduled at the Centre for the Hands-On, Review, Final Exam
and Remediation are subject to change.

Students are expected to attend online classes regularly and on time.
The regular school schedule has been adapted to provide more flexibility to students, families
and staff. Our goal with these changes is to increase student engagement and reduce screen
time.
