Task One: Questions
Assessment Cover Sheet
This document must be signed by the student for each assessment completed. Submission of Assessments
will not be accepted for marking/review without a completed and signed Assessment Cover Sheet.

By signing this Agreement, I confirm that I understand the Assessment Submission Guidelines, as detailed
in the Student Handbook and Acknowledge Education’s policies and procedures. In particular:
• The work submitted is my own and does not contain another person’s material represented in my
work.
• I understand that I must acknowledge in an appropriate manner all information and sources of
assistance used in my assessment work.
• I have followed all submission, presentation and file name guidelines outlined in the submission
guidelines. I am aware that if I do not follow the required guidelines, this could result in my
assessments being returned not assessed by my trainer/assessor.
• I understand that I must not receive undue assistance or the unauthorised help of others in the
preparation of my assessment work.
• I will not allow other students to access or copy in whole or any part of my assessment work.
• I understand that if I am dissatisfied with the way I have been assessed or with my result, I have the
right to appeal as detailed in the Student Handbook and Acknowledge Education’s policies and
procedures.

You will need to have access to relevant legislation, standards and codes, industry practices.
Evidence
You must submit the completed assessment cover sheet and your answers to your assessor, either by
handing in written responses or by online submission within the allocated time.
Ensure you keep a copy of your submitted work. Assessments submitted without a completed cover
sheet will not be accepted.
Question 2 If you were asked to organise a group meeting, what process or protocols would you
use?
Answer First establish the agenda for the meeting
Establish the stakeholders that would be relevant for the meeting
Select a date and venue for the meeting
Communicate the meeting to all the concerned parties
Make all the resources and items required for the meeting available in good time
Establish an panellist or moderator for the meeting to take place

Question 3 How would a group research potential funding sources for a community project?
Answer Group research can help through getting the community project funding through
grants from the government and also corporate sponsorship or also contributions and
donations from members in the community.
Question 6 The capacity building approach focuses on the notion that community development
works with the individual and not for the individual. What does this mean?
Answer Capacity building approach helps individuals according to their specific needs. It is
more helpful to an individual because it helps them improve their strengths and work
on their weaknesses.
Question 7 Explain how a client-centred model can benefit and represent clients in a community.
Answer A client-centred model focuses on the needs of the client. Clients can benefit from
this because their specific needs are met and are given a priority.
A client’s needs once sorted out can end up helping the community in general.
Answer An advocate must have very good communication skill to be able to express
themselves easily.
An advocate must be a good negotiator to be able to champion for the rights of their
client.
An advocate should be emotionally intelligent as well as have empathy for the parties
they represent.
Answer Appropriate referral information can be accessed through various ways. One of them
is the primary source which is the patient themselves and their files.
One can also access appropriate referral information through reliable credible sources
that have done their research on the issue.
Question 10 Research qualitative and quantitative data methods and explain the difference between
the two methods. Which of the methods do you believe will be effective in capturing
good data?
Answer Qualitative data research methods involve broad ended questions that seek to
answer the question of why and how. They offer the interviewer a chance to answer
the question in detail. Quantitative on the other hand are closed ended and do not
provide a large room for being descriptive.
Both techniques are important in data collection and I would recommend the use of
both methods in data collection.
Question 11 How can information be disseminated to community groups? Give at least four
examples.
Answer Organizing community outreach programs
Through the use of social media platforms
Through distributing fliers and booklets
Through the use of media houses such as Television and radio
Answer There are a number of ways in which cultural issues can cause barriers in community
development. Some cultural beliefs and traditions do not blend well with current
technological advancements. There are areas where culture fails to blend in with
current trends leading to failure in the development of the community. A good
example is when the community does not believe in going to school, developing the
area becomes difficult.
Answer Cooperative group processes are techniques and strategies that a group can utilize to
effectively accomplish their goals by coming together. It involves cooperation and
aligning of goals to a certain purpose.
