stages?
Solution: include partner feedback as well as class feedback

Strengths of the lesson plan:

-The plan follows a clear structure. It provides guides, written practice followed by freer speaking practice
which gives learners an easy-to-follow structure to learn the past continuous.

-The production activity involves both speaking and writing and involves whole class interaction which
provides variety for the learners and also, some movement in the classroom.

Points to improve:

-The lesson plan has been written assuming that the learners have never come across the grammar of
Past Continuous before. If some learners are already familiar, some elements could be too easy for them.
The teacher could provide opportunities to elicit the grammar if the learners have already seen it.

-Ss are learning both the affirmative and interrogative form in the lesson- this might be difficult for them. It
might be easier for them to simply learn “What were you doing…” without going into too much detail for
the interrogative form. The teacher should be prepared for questions about the negative form of the past
continuous.
