Power Armor Customization


Power armor is the pinnacle of infantry protection, combining heavy plating, mobility systems, sensors,
and environmental seals into a functional package. All power armor has the following features:

• All Armor is Heavy Armor. It does not stack with worn, natural, or augment armor.
• Power armor covers the entire body.
• Internal display of armor status, sensor data, operator health, and accessory status.
• Incorporates an encrypted (–4) tactical radio with 5km range.
• Tier 3 IDS; can upgrade to Tier 5 (customer supplied).
• Hydrogen power cells provide up to 36 hours of continuous operation.
• Self-contained environment protects from airborne pathogens, gases, bacteria, and virtually all
biological or chemical warfare. Provides heating, cooling, and breathable air while powered.
Suffering one or more Wounds causes a breach, significantly impairing this protection.
• Unarmed attacks deal Str+d4 damage and are Heavy Weapons.
• Even the most basic version is considered Restricted. Most versions are considered Military,
including any models with Weapons or additional Armor modifications.

Logistics
Refueling the hydrogen cells costs 100 x Size Cryptodollars.

When power armor becomes seriously damaged (GM discretion), repairs typically cost 5% of the retail
price.

Frame
Select the base frame of the armor.
Size: The Size of the power armor. The operator must be a smaller Size; only heavy power armor is large
enough for a Brawny rhino hybrid.
Weight: Power armor effectively weighs zero while worn and powered.
Pace: The wearer’s Pace is replaced by the armor’s Pace. Running d6.
Mod Slots: Slots available for Power Armor Modifications.

Light Power Armor: Typically configured for scouting or reconnaissance, light power armor is also
popular heavy support for security forces. A minority of designers favor using light power armor as high-
mobility and high-impact strike units.

Medium Power Armor: The versatile standard size of power armor, medium is large enough to
accommodate nearly all of humanity. Medium suits are task focused, able to hold enough systems for
any single purpose but not enough for every purpose.

Heavy Power Armor: The largest and heaviest power armor can effectively fill multiple roles.

Power Armor Modifications


Add modifications to the base frame to create the desired power armor.

Parenthesis after the name indicate the maximum number of times a specific modification can be
applied, if more than once; U can be taken an unlimited number of times. The effects of a modification
follow the name.

The Mod Slots column indicates how many Mod Slots a modification uses, per application if the
modification can be applied more than once. Some modifications use a number of slots based upon the
Size of the power armor frame.

Amphibious: Moves at Pace in water. Max depth 500 ft (83 yards). 1 1k x Size
Anti-Missile Counter Measures: Jammers and decoys provide +2 to 1 5k x Size
Evade missiles.
Armor (Size): Increase armor +2. 1 1k x Size
Artificial Intelligence: Onboard Sprite can assist operator, or control suit — 50k
if operator incapacitated. Sprite is an Extra with d8 Athletics, Electronics,
Hacking, Notice, and Shooting, and Reliable Edge.
Controlled Falling System: Negate falls of 12 yards or higher. Armor can Size 5k x Size
move horizontally 4 units per 1 unit of drop. Athletics to land safely;
failure causes Fatigue (bumps & bruises).
Cosmetic Feature (U): Designer styling, integrated jewelry, hypertags, — varies
programable smart paint, and other cosmetic only decoration.
Drone Rack: Storage and charging port for one drone of Size equal to 1 15k
armor Size –3. Can hold one additional drone for each Size smaller the
drones are, up to three drones. Extends control range up to 5 km.
EMP Hardening: Operator is Hardy to EMP weapons. 1 5k
Extended Battery: Doubles fuel cell duration. 1 15k
Hard Point (Size): Mounting point for TAP-controlled equipment. 1 2k
Weapons up to 100 lbs can be used.
Holster, Concealed: Concealed storage for weapon up to Conceal +2 or — 250
compact objects up to 10 lbs.
Impact Harness: Reduce falling and collision damage by two dice. Size 2.5k x Size
Jump Pack: Leap double suit Pace horizontally or suit Pace vertically. 2 5k x Size
Lightweight: Alternate materials and structures reduce suit weight by a — 1k x Size
third, which removes the Heavy Armor ability.
Magnetic Pads: Magnetic pads in hands and soles allow movement 1 5k
along metal surfaces, vertically at Pace and horizontally at half Pace.
Medical System: Automated systems supply antibiotics, anesthetics, 1 25k
stimulants, and clotting agents to help the operator survive trauma.
Gives +2 to recover from Shaken or Stunned and to resist Bleeding Out.
Night Vision: Ignore Dim and Dark Illumination penalties. — 1k
Pace (3): Pace +2, Running +1 die. 1 2k x Size
Sealing: Quick-hardening gel closes most breaches. The suit remains 1 10k
sealed until the wearer suffers three Wounds.
Sensor Suite: Low light cameras, thermal sensors, filtered microphones, 1 5k
ultra-sonic emitters, 20x telescope, and millimeter-wave radar enhance
awareness. The wearer gets a free Reroll on all Notice checks within 100
yards, and ignores Illumination penalties for the same distance.

Shrapnel Pack: Free action. Large Blast Template centered on armor, 1 5k


5d6 damage, half to armor. Reloads are 10 lbs, 1 hr to install, cost 1k.
Signal Booster: Longer antennas, frequency changes, and more power 1 5k
increase transmission range to 40km overland, or planetary orbit.
Signal Jammers: Flood the local area with meaningless EM signals. 1 3k
Subtract 4 from all wireless signals within 100 yards, block radio
broadcasts, and add 2 to Evade missiles and other guided weapons.
Special Feature: Strange features not already covered. Talk to GM. 0 to 2 varies
Stealth System: Free action. Color-shifting smart paint, radar absorbing Size+1 10k
materials, heat baffles, and other technology make the suit stealthy.
Rolls to detect or target the armor, including Notice and Electronics,
subtract 4 from the total. Negated by firing weapons, activating sensors,
radio broadcasts, or other non-cloakable signal.
Strength System (U): Increase wearer’s Strength 1 die type. 1 5k
Strike Plates: Increase unarmed damage by AP 6. — 15k
Tactical Sensors: Requires Sensor Suite. A tactical map, IFF trackers, and 1 50k
improved communications extend wearer’s Command Radius to 100
radio-linked troops within five kilometers (three miles).
Targeting System: Ignore 2 points of Shooting penalties for cover, 1 20k
movement, multiple actions, and recoil.
Weapon Mount (2): Single mount can hold up to 100 lbs of personal 1 5k
weapon or up to 1 Mod of vehicular weaponry. Two shoulder mounts
can be combined for a single Mod 2 vehicular weapon. Weaponry not
included.
Corporate Armor Trappings
Changes by corporate manufacturer.

Act of God Armaments: Act of God Armaments is best known for their powerful weapons and biblical
naming. AGA power armor continues the themes with simple systems, heavy armaments, and biblical
names.

Black Knight Industries: Black Knight power armor continues the retro styling and reliable quality. All
their power armor models include Strike Plates.

Central Belarusian Steel: CBS has several respected models, like the venerable Bear, but has been slow
rolling out new designs due to the ongoing problems in Europe.

Hostile Merger: To date, Hostile Merger manufactures the most protective Restricted grade power
armor available. Their power armors are stylish, protective, and unarmed—perfect for warzone
meetings.

Kensai Zero: Kensai Zero sells some of the most exotic designs, with features and innovations that are
often imitated while KZ moves onto new things.

Marsworks Engineering: This extra-terrestrial manufacturer adds Magnetic Pads and Sealing to all their
power armors, optimizing for shipboard and space operations.

Ravenlocke Security: Focusing on security and police forces, Ravenlocke Security manufactures power
armor for riot duty and heavy reaction forces. Security forces take a dim view of civilians wearing
Ravenlocke Security armor.

Shogun Outfitters: Shogun Outfitters evokes traditional Japanese armors with all their designs. Many of
their power armors are named after traditional Japanese siege weaponry.

Sudeki-Whyte: Sudeki-Whyte was a leading developer of armaments and armor, now barely hanging on.
SW power armor is well regarded, though some of their weapons underperform.

Wasteland Traders: Rugged and reliable, Wasteland Traders designs power armor for those that need to
travel the deadly wastes. All models include Extended Battery and the license and schematics to print
repair parts. Increase cost 3%.

Example
Act of God Armaments was approached to provide a heavy suit for dealing with bio-horrors. The R&D
team came up with the Minister power armor.

Starting with a Medium armor frame, they added two underarm weapon mounts for flame projectors,
the heaviest available armor, night vision, one hard point, a shrapnel pack, and two Strength systems.
That uses (2 + 2 + 0 + 1 + 1 + 2 =) 8 of the eight available Mod Slots.

The list price is (400k + 2x 5k + 2x 2k + 1k + 2k + 5k + 2x 5k + 2x 300 =) 432,600 C$. As Military hardware,


the black market price is significantly higher.
