RATIONALE
All of us live with the existence of art, just as we take some foods for sustenance
Arts exist in delight and serves its purpose of giving us the reason to sustain for living.
Visual arts is a topic that promotes teaching and learning through arts, craft and design
in specific with collage. For young ones, specifically the 4rth grades in elementary, this
involve them on familiarizing and applying its elements of arts. Visual arts also
concerned with the personal, cognitive and physical fulfillment of every learner even in
low grades. the qualities that visual art develop are crucial components of each general

time of the invention of paper in China, around 200 BC. The use of collage, however,
did not arise until the 10th century in Japan, when calligraphers began to apply glued
paper, using texts on surfaces, when writing their poems. Some surviving pieces from
this style are found in the collection of Nishi Hongan-ji – many volumes of the Sanju
Rokunin Kashu.
God leaf panels started to be applied in Gothic cathedrals around the 15 th and 16th
centuries. Gemstones and other precious metals were applied to religious images,
icons, and also, to coats of arms. An 18 th century example of collage art can be found in
the work of Mary Delany. In the 19 th century, collage methods also were used among
hobbyists for memorabilia (e.g. applied photo albums) and (e.g. Hans Christian
Andersen, Car Spitzweg). Many institutions have attributed the beginnings of the
practice of collage to Picasso and Braque in 1912, however, early Victorian photo
collage suggest collage techniques were practiced in the early 1860s. Many institutions
recognize these works as memorabilia for hobbyists, though they functioned as a
