THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED
OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANT ABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY
PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
Warranty Period
Party A provides warranty period as described chart below for sold products and Party A offers free
of charge repair service within the warranty period except for the replacement of disposable parts.
The commencement of warranty period is determined by either the installation date on warranty
card or manufacturing date.

Warranty Exemptions
Insighters 's obligation or liability under this warranty does not include any transportation or other
charges or liability for direct, indirect or consequential damages or delay resulting from the improper
use or application of the product or the substitution upon it of parts or accessories not approved by
Insighters or repaired by anyone other than a Insighters authorized representative.

This warranty shall not extend to any instrument which has been subjected to misuse, negligence
or accident; any instrument from which Insighters's original serial number tag or product
identification markings have been altered or removed, or any product of any other manufacturer.

It’ an obligation for Exclusive Distributor to assist Insighters Medical in case of product recall and
after-sales service.

Return Policy
1. If repairs become necessary, for other than damages incurred during initial shipment, the
customer must follow the repair procedure.
2. Warranty repairs will be made without charge. All other repairs are subject to Insighters’
applicable standard repair or exchange charges.
3. If requested, customer will be advised of the estimated cost of the repair work or a product
exchange before it is undertaken.
4. All repairs carry a 90 days warranty.
5. Exchange products carry the applicable Insighters product warranty.
6. If the damaged product is not returned within thirty (30) days of receipt of the replacement
product, customer will be invoiced for the full list price of the replacement.
7. Insighters reserves the right to refuse or return any product sent back without prior
authorization of Insighters Customer Support Department.
Other Terms
1. It is compulsory to provide customer information, troubleshooting description and address to
send back for after-sales repair. The freight cost should be shared by both parties under
warranty period.
2. No matter what causes device damage, please stop usage and contact Party A for repair.
3. Insighters Medical reserves the right of final interpretation.

Safety
1.1 Meaning of Signal Words

In this manual, the signal words WARNING, and CAUTION are used regarding safety and other
important instructions. The signal words and their meanings are defined as follows. Please
understand their meanings clearly before reading this manual.

1.3 Safety Precautions


Please read and understand all the precautions in this manual before trying to use an laryngoscope.
Regularly review operating procedures and safety precautions.
1.3.1 Electrical safety

WARNING
 Only personnel authorized or trained by the manufacturer can carry out equipment
maintenance. No Team Authorization cannot install or remove equipment.

 The user must receive adequate training and study before use. Official agencies and operators
shall meet the qualification requirements. Otherwise, only medical personnel approved by the
hospital safety administrator or department head can perform the laryngoscope. Only
personnel authorized or trained by the manufacturer can carry out equipment maintenance.
No team authorization cannot install or remove equipment.

 Do not use flammable gasses such as anesthetics, or flammable liquids such as ethanol, near
this product, because there is danger of explosion.

 Before every usage, ensure the product is operating correctly and has no sign of damage. Do
not use if it appears damaged. Always ensure that alternative airway management methods
and devices are readily and available.

 The insight iS3 video laryngoscope host must be charged with the power adapter supplied by
Insighters, otherwise the device may be damaged.

 The insight iS3 video laryngoscope are delivered non-sterile and require cleaning or
disinfection prior to initial use.

 This product may only be cleaned, disinfected, or sterilized by using the approved methods
provided in this manual. Availability of cleaning, disinfection,and sterilization products varies in
different countries, and Insighters Medical is unable to test products in every market. For more
information, please contact Insighters after-sales team.

 No modification of this equipment is allowed.

 This product and related devices may contain batteries and other environmentally hazardous
materials.

 Electric shock hazard. Do not attempt to open the system components. This may cause
serious injury to the operator or damage to the instrument and will void the warranty.

 Do not use the power adapter in the presence of flammable anesthetics.

 Before the installation and operation, the user should first check the appearance of the
medical device to ensure there are no unintended rough surfaces, sharp edges or protrusions
which may cause HARM.

CAUTION
 Malfunctions due to radio waves:
(1) Use of radio-wave-emitting devices in the proximity of this kind of medical electronic system may
interfere with its operation. Do not bring or use devices which generate radio waves, such as
cellular telephones, transceivers, and radio controlled toys, in the room where the system is
installed.
(2) If a user brings a device which generates radio waves near the system, they must be instructed
to immediately turn OFF the device. This is necessary to ensure the proper operation of the system.

 Do not allow fluids such as water to contact the system or peripheral devices. Electric shock
may result. The equipment is suitable for use in the environment of professional health
institutions.

 Do not use in home environment or environment directly connected to a low-voltage power


grid that supplies power to residential buildings.

 Video Laryngoscope is a kind of ordinarily sealed device. The user should keep its surface dry
and clean, and prevent any liquid into the internal.

 The user should properly place Video Laryngoscope, preventing it from falling, violent
oscillation, or other damage caused by external mechanical force.

1.3.2 Parts safety


Caution: Only spare parts provided or approved by the manufacturer can be used.Use other spare
parts may cause damage to the equipment and cannot achieve the expected performance
described in this manual.

1.3.3 Biological risk considerations


 Operators should take measures to avoid direct contact with disinfectants or samples of
patients. If there is skin contact, rinse the area with clear water immediately. If the liquid
touches the eyes, rinse with water immediately and seek the help of an ophthalmologist.
 Dispose of disinfectants, detergents and wastes in accordance with local laws or regulations.
Consult your local manufacturer or distributor for more information.

3 Checking procedure

3.1 Check Battery


The Video Laryngoscope host includes an internal lithium battery.Insighters Medical recommends
users to charge the battery fully prior to first use.
The system must be operated exclusively on battery power, without a connection to an AC power
source.
Under normal operating conditions, a fully charged battery lasts approximately 240 minutes working
time.

3.1.1 Battery Status Icons


Red: ≤5% battery volume remaining. Battery must be recharged.
Yellow: 5% to 40% battery volume remaining.
Green: ≥40% battery volume remaining.
3.1.2 charge steps
1. Connect the power adapter and host via micro-USB port.
2. Connect the power adapter to proper power supply. Fully charging the battery may
take up to 4 hours.
Note: The system will not operate while charging.

3.2 Check HDMI (Optional)


By using an HDMI cable, users can connect the host to an external monitor that is approved for
medical use for real-time image transmission.
Note: Image quality on the external monitor may vary according to the resolution of the
external monitor.
1. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the host.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to the HDMI port on an external monitor approved for medical
use.
Note: The HDMI function support real-time image transmission and video playback.

3.3 Connect to Host


Follow the steps below to install host before use:
1. Hold the iS3-F handle firmly by one hand.
2. Insert the host in the connect port of iS3-F (as shown in Fig 3-3-1).

3.4 Perform Functional Check


Before using the device, insighters recommends users to perform following functional check to
ensure that the video laryngoscope is working properly.
1. Turn on the host, ensure the battery volume.
2. Connect the host with handle, check the white LED on distal end of handle whether light up.
3. Check if image from camera are displaying normally and clearly on the screen.
4. Adjust the deflection lever gently, check if the bending angle of distal end working as normal.

3.5 Check Image
1. Turn on the power. LCD will display start-up image.
2. Connect host with handle, and then the white LED on distal end of handle will light up, host will
display image from camera.

3.6 Check Record Function
1. When host displays image from camera, short press the Photo/video touch button on screen to
take photo.
2. Press the Photo/video touch button 2-3 seconds to start recording video, there will be prompt
tone if the sound on, and a red dot will flash on the top right corner. Press the button again to finish
recording.
3. Press the built-in menu button to enter built-in menu, press the “photo” or “video” button to
browse and manage the photo/videos taken. (as shown in Fig Fig 3-6-1)

4 Maintenance/ Cleaning and Disinfection
4.1 Maintenance

4.1.1 Unpacking and inspection


1. Inspect the iS3-F for possible damage during shipment;
2. Check the items according to packing list;
3. Test all the functions working as normal.
If the function have any abnormal, do not operate on the patient, please refer to Troubleshooting or
contact with the Insighters service engineer immediately.

4.1.2 Routine maintenance


1. A thorough examination shall be carried out every 3~6 months or after each maintenance by
qualified personnel, including function and safety test.
2. There shall be no water spilt into the machine. If there is dirt on the surface of the device, it must
be wiped gently with clean cotton dipped in alcohol.
3. If there is quality problem, please contact the company rather than attempt to disassemble the
device.
Battery Maintenance
1. There is a built-in non removable lithium polymer battery in the host. While not using, shutdown
the host to reduce the loss of the battery life.
2. Don’t use the product during charging which may cause unacceptable risk.
3. The users must use the AC adapter configured by Insighters to charge the battery when the
power is low. Avoid using the AC adapter made by other companies.
4. The intend battery lifetime is 5 years and it can be used 4 hours continuously after charge
completely. It means the battery needs changing if the use time shorter than 2 hours after charged.
Please contact the dealer or the company.
5. If Video Flexible Laryngoscope is kept in storage for a long time, the battery should be fully
charged again, and it should be recharged every 3 to 6 months in case of damage to the battery
caused by self-discharge.
6. The battery should be changed only by the manufacture and any action about changement is not
allowed.
7. Don't burn or discard used batteries. Please return the waste battery to the dealer or the
company and the returning is free of charge.Maintenance and Cleaning

4.2 Cleaning for the host


The iS3-F host and handle are considered as non-critical device and normally required a rapid
disinfection.
The equipment should be kept from dust. If the shell or screen needs cleaning, the detergent should
be noncorrosive, such as soap or rinsing etc.
Notes:
1. Do not use strong solvent, such as acetone.
2. Most cleanser need dissolving before use. Keep to the cleanser’s instructions for use.
3. Do not use abrasive materials, such as fine steel wire or silver polishing agent.

4. Do not let any liquid ingress into the equipment and do not immerge the equipment into
any liquid.
5. Keep the surface of the equipment clean after cleaning.
6.Any port or clearance should be kept at down side to avoid cleaner or water going
inside,results in corrosion or short circuit. Such as USB port, HDMI port, Horn, connector
head, camera head.

4.2.1 Manual cleaning procedure


1. Make sure that the host power is shut off before cleaning for the purpose of safety.
2. Disassemble the blade from the host, dispose the single-use blade* properly.
*If use reusable blade, please refer to User Manual of Reusable Blade to clean, disinfect or sterilize
the reusable blade.
3. Disassemble the host from handle.
4. Use soft lint-free cloth to wipe clean the host and handle thoroughly to remove any visible debris
and soil from all exposed surfaces.
5. Use soft lint-free cloth moistened with detergents or disinfecting wipes to wipe the host and
handle thoroughly. Always follow the detergent manufacturer’s instruction to achieve proper
disinfection.
6. Dry all surfaces with sterile gauze.
7. Store the monitor and handle in aseptic clean pouch for next use.

4.3 Disinfection & Sterilization for the Handle

laryngoscope iS3-F series handle, for detailed process please refer to the Cleaning
and Disinfection Guide of iS3-F series along with the goods.

4.3.4 Cleaning & Disinfecting procedure the iS3-F Series Handle

1.Package the handle in a pouch.


2.Sterilize the handle, follow the manufacturer's instructions for the sterilization system.
3.Store the handle in an environment that is suitable for sterile equipment.
Insighters Medical has validated the products in below table for both chemical compatibility and
biological efficacy when sterilizing the indicated component(s) as instructed in the Conditions
column:

4.4 Storage and disposal

4.4.1 Storage
1. Make sure the host is turned off and the AC adapter is disconnected.
2. Avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, and acid erosion. Store it in a dry, clean place.
3. Avoid storing it in chemicals or at explosible gases.
4. The flexible tube part can’t be twisted when in storage, or it maybe get damaged.

4.4.2 Device disposal


To avoid environmental contamination or infections to people or other equipment, the disposal of
Video Flexible Laryngoscope should be in accordance with relevant provisions of the state on the
purification and disinfection of medical devices.
As for the disposal of the blade, please follow relevant provisions of local hospitals.Troubleshooting
